We won't even get 8 cores until Bulldozer. I'm still patiently waiting for Bulldozer. This is impressive, but still based on K10.

4 cores are not enough man...

6 8 12 16 18 20 22 24 keep them coming AMD and Intel! Keep them coming, maybe the programmers will catch up someday! Probably not.

But, some genius is going find a way to outsmart the CPU.

AMD in blue :puke2: Intel in Yellow

Has CPU come to edge of the life.... adding more chips is like a shortcut to add more power...

Pretty much the heresy I have been spouting for the last year or more. A decent Dual core can (In most circumstances) compete with a quad core or more. It all depends on software. There are very few games that can use more than 2 cores advantageously, so why bother paying more for a multi-core setup. Get a stellar dual or tri core, and take the difference you would have spent on a quad+ core chip, and put it into your GFX card. You WILL see higher performance. Maby next year it will all change, but that is what everyone keeps saying every year.

I just wish game developers took more advantage of the cores, ram, etc etc...

If only PC gaming was a focus in the industry...
