Amazon Studios (Prime) are going to make a TV series based on the Bethesda game Fallout. Much information is not yet known about the series. The series is made in collaboration with Bethesda Game Stud... Amazon Studios is going to release Fallout TV series
This can work if it will be based on the first two games, everything after is a joke. "with executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham for Kilter Films, Todd Howard" Yup, a joke. - Extended cut - DLC - Bugs in the actual movie. - 4k 60fps - DLC
Extended cuts are typically separate releases and cost as much as the original theater version (if they are released months later), sometimes more (if released at the same time), if you buy them physically (BD). In movies bugs are usually called mistakes, goofs, or something like that. They are super common in all productions. I reckon all 4k projectors are capable of at least 60fps, so I'd say the thing probably will be shot and rendered at a reasonable frame rate to begin with.
I personally love the entire fallout series and i hope this does well but typically movies/shows based on games and vice versa are not great with the exception of the witcher for me.
I can take some Fallout Tactics fun in there too That's hard mark to touch. It has not been invaded by JSW and other BS. Westworld is great because there are no "good guys", and everyone has own motivation, reasoning, ... And authors do not spoil information in 1st episode of season that drives conclusion of last episode. Then again, series comes out in story arcs. And they tend to finish each ark within one season. No prolonged BS, no cliffhangers.
Am I the only one that thought the movie "The Book of Eli" had a very Fallout like feel to it? If they can replicate that feel I think it will be a success.
I thought that Bethesda only had rights for games from the franchise. To be honest, they should completely ignore the Bethesda entries. I'm replaying New Vegas now, and it is indeed the Fallout 3 that we were supposed to get. But, either one of the three will happen: 1) The people who make this have never played any Fallout game, and they will just make their own version of the post-apocalypse, with enough references to get an initial audience (most likely) 2) They have only played the Bethesda versions. God save us. 3) They prefer 1 & 2 (and perhaps New Vegas), which is highly unlikely. I liked Westworld very much. The first season was amazing, the second one could be helped with a bit better editing, and the third one I found quite good too. They can obviously make good TV.
If they want this to be really authentic the Prime video app will have to constantly crash while your watching the show.
TV? I didn't know anyone used that thing anymore except little old ladies watching Hallmark, Oxygen, or Lifetime channels - or older men watching the news. Whenever I am near a TV and someone turned one on in the last 15 years, there's always a commercial playing... and it costs good money to have it, too. I am still unsure if this will be good, but it has potential. Just as long as they don't make it a reality show.
This is going to be a high-budget B movie. It will suck but it will look great while sucking. Fallout was a stupid idea made by infantile young men for the sole pleasure of other infantile young men, particularly of my generation. To elevate it is just beyond idiotic, as it was with all of the superhero movies and TV shows. It will leave you feeling empty and disappointed and regretful if you watch it. Why couldn't everyone just be happy with Fallout 1 and 2??? Remember when they made a movie out of Doom?
