some of the fclk/memory straps are "broken", they work, but the internal settings are screwed up, so you might find the performance is worse or they are much harder to boot. the apus suffer from this more, but I'm pretty sure this applies to Vermeer as well.

Can concur. Memory overclocking is the most tedious, annoying thing you can do with your pc. It really is for the most hardcore nerds.

Also highest risk of corrupting your OS.

Overclocking ram happens when you already overclocked cpu and gpu so you got bored but still want to overclock something :D

4x DDR4 sticks on 5950x, wouldnt recommend without active cooling.

I took the plunge over the last few days to test and learn. Tested with multiple memtests going at once and using Ryzen DRAM Calculator. All fine so far after 24 test. Not sure what to try next as taking any of those that are at 21 down 1 more means a crash. Best I can do with this RAM and my experience. It's been interesting though!

Next time I buy RAM, I might treat myself to some lower timing memory.

CAS(CL)+tRAS=trc? That is what I read anyway. I played it safe. I will try to lower it a little more.

    What about
    Code:
    RAS# to RAS# Delay (tRRD_S): 4T
    Four Activate Window (tFAW): 16T

    ?

Traditionally tRRD should fit into tFAW exactly 4 times, but usually they are "5+" for tRRD and "25+" for tFAW in BIOS defaults. And if "4; 16" combo glitches you can try "5; 20".

Also usually you can double and even triple default value of [scratch]Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC).[/scratch] edit: not tRFC, but tREFI.

    As for tRFC - https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/attachments/trfc-v21-png.508862/
