Multiple sources now published 3DMark results of an alleged AMD Radeon RX 6800XT showing benchmark results at a 4k resolution. These results are compared to the Geforce RTX 3080 from NVIDIA....

6800XT is not "big navi". There is a bigger named 6900XT :p

Well, if this is true - I'm starting to look forward to the 6900xt.

So better at rasterization than 3080 and RT performance at the 2080TI level. Not bad, not bad at all, IF confirmed by independent reviews :). I suspect the RT perf might go up over time, as the drivers mature.

Also Port Royal was basically funded by NVidia to "show off" their RTX stuff.
Not representative of real-use DXR performance.

I suspect RT in games that are designed for the new consoles will actually run considerably better on Radeon than on price-equivalent RTX cards.

6900xtx have a chance to take the performance crown. I think thats pretty amazing.

Cool :) Looking very much forward to seeing everyone's reviews going up.

If the cards are this powerful, IF this is the not-quite top of the line, and there's something close to a RTX 3090, then we can even get an expanded #ripjay/#ripgn/#ripxxx series :)

The FIRE STRIKE ULTRA scores for the 2080Ti are off. The combined average on 3DMark is 8516 - a bit above the 3070 at least. With random hardware.
Even with my mere 8 core i7-10700k that is missing some points for the CPU test that 3DMark throws in there, I still get around 9500. \

Bit off topic here but because both articles with some benchmarks for both the RTX 3070 and the RX 6800XT came in today. Looking at the numbers it is a bit the same as the Port Royal test. For instance, the average with my CPU just in Aus with a RTX 2080Ti is almost 9600.. <- Link to 3DMarks results.. plus its only about 10% off a 3080.. For some reason, keep seeing odd scores. Maybe reviewers/nvidia using a 250w power limited model and just copying results. Also, the CPU has a big impact in tests other than Port Royal.. Which I would have thought the 3000 series would dominate.

The RTX 3070 score for reference (if true) was 8324..

I hope when independent reviewers use other GPU's for comparison they don't use crappy cards, or pull graphs from nvidia's site ;P I used a mates RTX 3080 and in 4K gaming - example Doom Eternal when turning HDR on with everything maxed it stuttered. The 2080 Ti used 10200mb of vram and was cruising in the 2085-2145mhz region. Just an Asus Dual fan series card (312w) paid $1200 AUD back in Sept 2018.

I suspect AMD will price these the same as Nvidia counterparts (3080).
If you can't buy the 3080, why price Navi cheaper?
And it will sell like hot cakes!

I this is true it better be cheaper than a 3080 because of the lack of DLSS(presumably) and poorer raytracing. Or I guess they would charge the same because they can?

Good thinking. Maybe 3080 should reduce prices based on information above, because it has inferior rasterization capabilities which matter in 99.9...% of existing games. And ~99% of upcoming games within next 12~24 months. And because it provides inferior image quality through use of "proprietary performance improving technique" called DLSS.

Or what about letting those companies set prices they want. And let Free Market do what it is best at.

While I would agree with this in general, there is still a good reason not to though.

I imagine they will price them competitively this generation, and increase their pricing once they gain market share, much like they've done with Ryzen. Unless they do a total dick move and just try to cash in on 3000-series supply woes. That however won't win them any favours.

Yeah the 6900XT looks real tasty if these numbers on the 6800XT are correct. I don't think the biggest Navi will be much less than £1200, though, but I'd like to be surprised with a lower price. 1K would be about the limit I would be willing to spend on a GPU but saying that the 6800XT is looking like a good option, and in my opinion a better option than the 3080, again, if the numbers in the leak are close to accurate.

It's hard to say what games will be using raytracing but one of the biggest games of the season(perhaps for years to come?) Cyberpunk 2077 will be using it very heavily so even if you can get better frames sans RT on a 6800XT it won't matter much if the 3080 smashes it with RT on. Still if the benches are true big Navi could be the ticket if the price is right.

    Very interesting.

Can't wait for results, along with RTX 3070, Thanks a bunch for sharing.
