well the GTX260M is about the same as the desk top 8800GT/9800GT.
So I would guess about the same as a 2 year old quad core desk top with SLI 8800GT's wich were awsome 2 years ago.

I'm guessing, around that of a single desktop GTX 260 if SLI is used. Pretty damn good for a laptop

How much did that cost you btw? Never had a thing for laptops but I always wonder which one's better when it comes to cost vs performance: Alienware or Sager

3dmark 06 is CPU limited. with my CPU at stock, i get around 13k, with CPU @ 4Ghz i get around 18k. ;)

the GTX 260m SLI and QX9300 should run every game out today at highest settings with full 60FPS. besides crysis and far cry 2, which still should run at high settings.

thats a sick laptop no matter what. I was looking into those the other day. best laptop money can buy. problem with laptops is the premium price for a short life. life meaning they get outdated fast and cant be upgraded.

I believe the GTX260M is basically the same performance as the 9800m GTX just priced higher. The performance on my Dell XPS M1730, with SLI 9800m GTXs is pretty good on most games. Yours will probably be a bit quicker due to your quad i would imagine.

Mine was £1500 with a four year warranty, and i still don't think it was worth it to be honest. Only sits in my conservatory and is used once a day by my wife, my desktop is used by me.

yes, but the 9800M GTX being the high end chip is actually priced much higher.

Steppis dont take this the wrong way, but do your self and your wallet a HUGE favor by canceling that 5K order..

Since you are willing to spend 5K take a look at those below from a 3 second search from google.. Also my favorite is the ASUS W90.. Just make sure you get a Config with a good CPU to mix it with those CXed 4870s!
Btw the W90 is the best laptop/notebook ever made is my opinion.. Aesthetics and gaming wise..

    1---ASUS W90 which has 2 HD 4870s.
    2---ALIENWARE M17X which has 2 GTX 280Ms.
    3---SAGER 9850(Clevo M980NU) Which has 2 GTX 280Ms.
    4---CLEVO D900F but only comes with a single 280m.

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/24/maingears-ex-l-18-grabs-for-worlds-most-powerful-gaming-lapto/

For this below only single 280m I could find.

All I'm saying is that you can do better on those 260m sli, especially with 5K!
You can get atleast 280m SLI > CX4870 with a QX9300 or a desktop i7 on those laptops.. With some patience I'm sure you can find a good Alienware M17x deal with those 280m Sli.. Never settle for less when you can get more.. :D

P.S: I was able to customized a Setup at the Alienware site with those 280m at around $4850. With some tweaking you can setup a similar setup to your need with those 2 280m at around $5000.. Just wanna help. :)

The same performance that a non-alienware desktop PC that costs half the money.

Seriously, you can play games with laptops, of course, but you will always get wors quality and performance for more money.

Laptops are built to have a portable machine that have the functionalities you need from a PC, but all the space and power limitations make them not too good at it. They´re just... portable

Thats some negative points on laptops/notebooks among others.. But you cant beat their portability.. I would love a Laptop with an i7 and some serious 3D horsepower under it..

Even my cheap Ati 4770 produces a little less 3DMark06 and FEAR 2 scores from an Ati Mobility 4870x2.. If I oced it I would surpass it..
Thats the limiting factor on the laptops.. Average perfmance from a mutli thousand dollars setup. But I guess we all know that..

    For the mobile card:

For the Ati 4770: (FEAR 2)

2500 euros = $3710 USD with the current currency rates.. It also depends where do you live. Economy and pricing differs in each country(usually).
Now how much between Germany and Norway I dont know.. But that Clevo price is darn good.. :)

I would in tech support and most of our users have laptops. This has truly jaded me on laptops something fierce. I could talk garbage about laptops all day long. But here's some advise instead.

Not sure how cold winter gets in Norway but if you intend on lugging this beast around then make sure you give it plenty of time to cool off\warm up before going outside or turning it on. I know computer like it cold but you can't expect computer to function for long if you keep going from extreme to extreme. Over here in Canada it can get rather cold and most of the people I support will shutdown place their laptop in the back seat or trunk of their car. Now in the summer that fine but when its - 40 C, not so much. Then they get home and turn on the computer and it goes from - 40 C to 50 C.

    Overtime that will hurt

Good luck with your devil machine
