    Oh my god....

is this intentional? There is no way this passed any quality checks, if there were even any done?

    Wow. What a mess.
I'm now aware of the fact that I am a sterling builder.
I only do MATX nowadays and that usually features some form of ROM drive as well..

A good example reminding me why I build my PCs myself.

I used to work in machining and my manager sometimes said ":.. to make something out of nothing".

Even the looks are off. I remember when alienware was looking badass. Their laptops also.

I remember when Alienware used to be classed as the best prebuilts around, then DELL brought them out and the rest is history. This was like what 2006?

    EDIT:

    Yes 2006 https://www.cnet.com/tech/computing/dell-to-acquire-alienware/

Ah yes, proper insulation. Don't forget your thermal paste applicator and CPU installation tool.

Properly hammer it in and screw with confidence. Works with women too btw lol.

Also put the graphics card to any lane where it looks nice.

    (All right I'm done...)

    Jenius engineering!

    Apparently this statement is true:
Dell can't ship Alienware PCs to certain US states due to newly adopted power consumption regulations.
How cool is that! Clearly not very if the power consumption is OTT. Poor Dellware.

    It is true

    Quote:
"The PC giant won't ship certain computer models to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington because of the states adopting the California Energy Commission's new Tier II mandatory energy efficiency standards on computers and mobile gaming systems that were put into effect on July 1."

Stupid law will be repealed or amended very soon. You can still buy individual parts and build a PC. So this law is just stupid.

Wow I just watched this video late Sunday evening. This is indeed absolutely awful!!! Admittingly I purchased my Alienware system from Microcenter last year due to having difficulty securing a video card and CPU. This system was also reduced because it was an open box purchase and before the current outrageous price hikes!

Gurus! I had to make some immediate changes starting with the fans. The stock intake and exhaust fans sound like you're accelerating the engine of a 77 Lincoln Continental while gaming. The stock airflow is horrendous. I now have 3 premium Noctua fans which provide much better airflow at 2000 rpm with lower decibels. Very quiet and far more effective. All drives are NVME/SSD and I added more RAM which honestly is overkill. The system came liquid cooled.

This had to be done because of how cramped the internal components are. This is the first prebuilt system I purchased since 1997.

Outside of the horrible engineering of this case I will admit my gaming needs are met. The system performs well. My CPU temps while gaming are still high for my taste but acceptable. Next desktop purchase I'll more than likely wait it out.

Nothing quite like pushing the ON button for first time after building a rig from the ground up, 50/50 if you're going to gaming heaven or amazon website to fill out return form.
Years ago you get pretty decently priced pre-builds but not nowadays, good gpu rest is pants and always the ram is slow boat to china.
I don't mind skimping on cases tho, i'm happy with nice £50 case no more, have enough air flow experience to choose wisely.
