Cyber Power and also iBuypower also sells some ASUS notebooks. Take an example from www.newegg.com

I read a review about building your own laptop... it acctually costs more. Or, in the case of the review, it did. Anyway, with a laptop, i know that i would want a good warranty behind it. If im carrying it around, having it in danger for most of the time, then ill really appreciate what a 3-5 year warranty will do for me, no matter who im buying from.

Here is one that you will find that is from iBUYPOWER and it is a good one for the money. The best part is that is build by ASUS its just the company advertising its name on it. And it is a Pre-Built one but i am not sure.

Here is the lappy iBUYPOWER S96J NoteBook Intel Core Duo T2500(2.0GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 1GB DDR2 533 100GB DVD±R/RW ATI Mobility Radeon X1600

If you do not belive it to be ASUS laptop just do a google search with the S96J words

first of all i sold a hp lappy zd8 i think
    3ghz p4 1gb ram x300 for a xps gen 1 3,4ghz northwood m9800

they both run VERY hot it normal for a p4 but in a laptop its worse

a simple fix is to raise is of the table so theres airflow and clean the heatsinks out with compresed air

Had my old trusty Dell 8600 for almost 3 yrs now and she has been a real trooper, played many games on this laptop, she is now showing her age with the old 128Mb Nvidia Fx 5650 card ....but still able to handle lots of games out on the market still....

I like my Dell E1705 laptop. Great graphics, extremely fast, and furthuremore I'm proud to own it. I'm staying away from desktops now that I got my laptop.

    Here are the specs.
    AREA 51-M
    AREA-51M 7700 5.3 GREY 17" XGA
    P4 3.8GHz 1MB 800FSB LGA775
    2 SAMSUNG 512MB DDR2 PC4200 SO-DIMM LF
    AREA-51M 7700 NVIDIA DDR3 6800FXGO WITH 256MB MODULE
    2 HITACHI NOTEBOOK 60GB 7200RPM HD RAID 0 Array
    AREA-51M 7700 8X DVD+/-RW NEC
    INTEL MOBILE INTEGRATED HIGH-DEFINITION AUDIO

As far as I can tell the CPU is severly bottlenecked by everything else, its so slow it takes 10+minutes to boot on a fresh install of windows.

The only ass alienware kicks, is the asses of its gullible customers.

Also alienware cases look like something a 12 year old would make with acrylic and a vaccuum former. They are the definition of PLASTIC looking.

If i had to choose between the Alienware case and the ASUS Vento case. I would chose the ASUS one. It is my opinion though. As for the alienweare case. Yeah you can find them online on eBay although there are far better looking ones that theirs.
