I think I keep checking this thread in hopes a sequel is announced.
Alias isolation Version 1.0.6 out!!!!
Better AA and cinematic tools included
Some pics using the cinematic tools ingame
The best, most stressful, well executed game i've played in a really long-time.
One of its kind. Don't know if i'll reinstall tho, my heart could barely finish the game lol.
You can always play it as a walking sim: http://www.moddb.com/games/alien-isolation/downloads/friendly-alien-and-working-joes
Complete pack's on sale for cheap right now and I'm thinking of getting it. My concerns are that it will outlive its welcome (seems to be 18-23 hours long) with limited action, backtracking, and samey-environments. Will those be a problem in the game?
If you are into the Alien film series... no.
Playing Isolation will be fantastic for you. I love the first film... it is my absolute favorite of the series.
And, playing Isolation felt exactly like running through the film. The setting, visuals... sounds... the entire atmosphere is spot on.
And then, the survival horror elements around the Xeno.
And gameplay is varied enough to keep it fun. Be it combat against humans, rouge androids... or hiding from the Xeno.
Solving puzzles and making your way through the station... it's great.
There is back-tracking. But, it's not like 'Run through area, get item, turn around and go back'. You will revisit areas, but after you've been through other areas. There's time before revisiting locations.
joined the game yesterday and played to just after meeting the Creature, has killed me 3 times already, finally made it to the elevator
I prefer to die via Alien over the artificial beings
fun game so far, looks good in 3840x2160 res and runs smooth
I agree the sound is well done
About the cinematic mod...how do I remove the options window while in game?
my heart was racing everytime i enter the level where i am, scared of getting that tail hit me from behind and go out through the torso
the Alien has been giving me many opportunities to get the point than talk to the hand, such a powerful tail as that could be worth dragging around
just got sealed in and blowed into space, fun times
I really need to get around to finishing this game... started playing on Hard and got a bit frustrated so haven't been playing for a while.
Even if I already switched to Medium and made some progress past the point I was stuck on.
a game with loads of suspense, and the objective location can be an elusive place to find at times
medium difficult is plenty for 1st play thru, the Alien sure can be a surprising sneaker for a heavy tromper and has managed to kill me quite a few times and the synthetics are nuisance presents too
just found the lvl 3 upgrade for my security tuner and shuttled away
Alien Blackout isn't a real Alien: Isolation sequel but a mobile game...
Mobile gaming: double digits growth, and already bigger than PC+consoles combined.
At this point, i'm not surprised at all by this news.
Dont you guys have phones? Jeez.
You just know they'll water down the game because otherwise the majority of people would just drop (or throw) their phones every single fricking time the alien arrives LOL...and I'm sure they'll get microtransactions that let them buy gallons of Xenomorph repellent at $2.99 a pop...
Yeah I use it to make phone calls -- it's not for games ; )
well maps to but not games. ;p
asian market pandering but hey lest they did not announce it as a show keynote.
but fans of the og game will not be happy at all.
i own the game on steam not played it past the first areas or much past there, i was like 7 or 8 when alien came out and i soooooo wanted to see the movie. but of course i was never allowed to and it took years (or lest it felt like it to my child mind) for that movie to make it to television and refused to goto bed until i had seen it.
I had nightmares for years . no movie ever gave me nightmares, some scared me, but burned itself upon my mind to haunt my dreams over and over bravo hr geiger, my favorite modern artist.
Hence i have a hard time getting deep into a aliens game less i got a m41a rifle and some grenades. And even then some of those old avp games that motion tracker can just die in a fire.
Honestly, no... I don't have a phone. I hate phones, and go out of my way to not use them.
I've intentionally not gotten a cell phone all these years.
hehe, it was a joke. I hate them as much as you do and i dont want to play my games on the phone.
Sadly this is where industry is going.
