    Goddammit!

Is this game EVER gonna be released? Does anyone know of a release date for this beast?

I sure hope it lives up to all the hype that is surrounding it, I know I'll be disappointed if it doesn't!

It looks amazing and I can't wait to play it, but haven't expected release dates been and gone?

sometime in 2010 (2nd quarter). i expect that any specific date will likely be pushed again, although at the earliest i'm thinking April, latest maybe Nov. in other words, pretend to forget about it for a while

They spent a while looking for a publisher, originally the Devs planned on all 3 major platforms. So what does that tell you?

it tells me that either the devs sold out for the best $$ching$$ which was Microsoft. or perhaps that.....nah, we know the answer. MS's main interest for gaming is the 360, so whats that say about "games for windows"?
    *cough*
MS needs to sell DX to Apple or Linux community and just die

    +1

    Indeed.

This would be amazing. If I could game with Linux, I would leave Windblows forever.

Remedy said, back on E3 09, that they are developing the game for the xbox360. But the publisher ( Microsoft ) can decide to port the game, if they wish. So we might see a PC version. And yeah, release date is Q2 2010, at the moment.

Play.com and Amazon have Alan wake listed. On amazon it says that the release date is on the 28th of may, 2010.

Hopefuly it is coming out on the pc and this isnt some weird vodo crap that im seeing. just looking at the price £40 is a bit steep for a game.

Yes an inferior version, considering Alan Wake was one of those nifty DX10 showpiece titles back in the day when DX10 was supposed to matter. Consolitis. Gotta loveit.

I wouldn't trust Play for that.

The reason the PC version was halted was probably because the game was taking too long, so one version had to be axed.

It must be partly done, so it may hit the PC eventually.

Not only that, they were demonstrating how it scaled on quad core processors and how physics and AI were all dedicated to their own cores...

Now we're stuck with an inferior DX9 version.

I'll probably buy it for the 360 because i've been waiting for years already, then i'll pirate it for the PC if it ever does come out with all the features it originallybragged out :(
