They also showed a tech demo a few years back, demonstrating the 'power' of Intels new quad core CPU's. And how it enhances Alan Wake etc etc... :bang: To be honest though, I had forgotten about the game untill reading the tech/gaming news. Better never than late I suppose!
I love Remedies work on Max Payne 1 and 2, but this just seems backstabbing. I hope it was microsoft that forced them to comply.
translation: because of the high piracy rate on pc games, we decided to make it an xbox360 exclusive. [/sarcarm]
Just microsofts doing, honesty i lost interest in Alan wake like 5+ years ago cause it been development limbo for years and gone threw like 3+ game engines. And frankly even with the current engine the graphics are completely dated by pc standards and the 360 screen shots i seen dont impress me either
Well honestly, I dont care much for the graphics of this game much as they were acceptable. I was looking forward to the story more than anything else.
Who cares, anymore....I think I posted like a year ago that this game has been dropped for the PC, funny how this game was originally also the big push for Direct X 10/Vista, and low and behold when Vista didn't take off look what MS did, they dropped the PC development like hot potato, it all about the money made, they don't care if the game is truly good or not.
Doesn't any big company? If it wasn't about the money made, then I'm sure the PC version wouldn't have been dropped. Think about it, why would they waste money on a product when many would probably pirate it for the platform, the OS it was originally developed for was poorly adopted by the general public, and the console market has a larger user base. Tell me they aren't thinking dollars. Hell they even said they wanted to use the game to push Xbox 360 sales.
People have been waiting on this game for years and years, with all the other titles I'll wait one or two more for the PC port. They probably just need to recoup the costs before finishing up the PC version. Given XNA and all this time it can't be too difficult to port a game from 360 to PC. Or maybe they REALLY couldn't find a mouse and keyboard control scheme that worked. Though I'd be playing it with a 360 pad anyway.
If you follow some warez news sites you will see that most of the games“ images to download comes first for Xbox 360. So...if they pirated first the Xbox versions, this is not a valid excuse to not making PC games anymore. Piracy will exist forever, doesnt matter the platform.
They probably don't know how to make PC controls is all. Maybe Infinity Ward could help them? After all, they're the masters of keyboard/mouse additions.
Who cares about ALAN WAKE in PC, when they make console version first. If it comes for PC. It will use ugly with low res textures. Controlls will be ****ty to horrible. Camera angles will be awfull like consoles usually do have. Its DX8-9 MIX most likely without DX10. Its gonna be "piperunning" cause consoles cant handle large areas well. I woud have got this but not anymore...
yeah i know, i was being sarcastic. but it is a great move by microsoft especially if this game doesnt have multiplayer. i just hope all the people with modded consoles have couches too.
Such nonsense in alot of the posts above, back when i was younger PC gamers were more intelligent, and there was a certain amount of respect for consoles. Nowadays anyone who manages to shove a GPU in a PCI-E slot thinks they are above anything to do with a console. The camera angles are spot on from what i've saw, the game is about atmosphere and story, its not a fast paced shooter where you need a wide FOV. It was going to be DX10, but the DX version is irrelevant, the DX9 version of Crysis far better than any DX11 game, some people only see things in numbers. Bad controls because Remedy don't know how to do PC controls??? Max Payne handled fine to me, and that was 10years ago. The ugliest game i've saw this year has been Stalker:COP, and that is a DX11 PC exclusive. Or does that not count because 11 is higher than 9, so it must be better.
