for me after seeing what UE 5.2 can do, i ve lost interest in any game that doesn t offer such quality assets, i mean imagine, a farcry game done with UE 5.2, it would be mind blowing

Frankly I yet to see a game in UE that blows me away.
So far most of the games , Cyberpunk, A Plague Tale, AW2, Metro, RDR2, Witcher 3 etc dont use UE
Maybe some of those tech demos get on real games....

Stalker 2, and Witcher 4 I hope, will bring those promised graphics.
Just hope that the engine is versatile enough to allow the art design for those games to shine

With the new update the memory leak is back, it happens faster than before, and this time it drops to single digits. I am using the most recent Nvidia driver that had fixed this problem before. So much fun trying to fight a bunch of super fast knife throwing dudes with single digit frame rates so I can get to a save room in a game that rarely autosaves.

I've noticed 11-12gb vram usage after a while. This is with update 1.0.12.

Finally finished the game! Really nice story, well written, gameplay not great, simple mechanics not that engaging or difficult for that matter, good GFX not out of this world, but definitely looks impressive in some areas.Ending also kinda disappoints imho, but clearly fits the genre.
All in all, a solid 8 out of 10 for me.

PS: would not give this one the GOTY, as BG3 and Zelda have much more to offer.

so.. im not sure about the exclusivity thing.

a friend from work played it, and said it's the best game he played this year. he told me i must purchase it *next year* when it will be on Steam.

am i missing something ? Alan Wake 2 is coming to Steam on 2024 or is it a constant EGS for the ages ?

obviously it's a no-brainer buy if it's gonna be on Steam.

There has been nothing official saying it is ever coming to Steam.

People make assumptions based on other timed exclusivity releases, but AW2 is published by Epic. So, there's zero to little chance it will come to Steam.

If you like this type of game I think in this instance you should by it on Epic, they fronted the money for development.

What has valve published that's worth a damn to single player gamers in recent times, nothing, just milking their customers on CS and Dota. Sure half life VR came out but that's only good for 1% who own VR and have the space for it.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Epic...
    But, Remedy deserve the support.

well for starters Valve has given me the most comfortable platform for PC gaming, for over a decade, almost two decades now actually. they allowed a lot of indie games to get noticed. yes not for free, but that's not mine to negotiate as a gamer who wants to buy games.

every game they ever made that i played was a 10\10. hell.. TF2 is the most iconic shooter that ever made in my eyes ( multiplayer i mean ), and it's worth all of MW or Battlefield series
    combined in terms of fun.

if someone buys skins\stuff online for CS and Dota that's his own problem, one does not need to do it.

just saying... spare me on Epic being generous to developers. this is one specific case ( AW2 ) out of many idiotic and greedy moves Tim Sweeney did over the years.

so to sum it up - Valve in my eyes is one of the most respected companies to ever released games for PC. by a long shot.

no one is perfect - but every Half-Life game was.

Oh I do feel like chiming in on this one....

True, and very perceptive. They financed part of Remedy's work, but other companies did so as well for other devs... and they didn't do it out of the good of their heart. Don't let yourself be gaslighted.

To emphasize this, read your own statement, but replace Valve and Valve's games with Epic and Epic's games:

What has Epic published that's worth a damn to single player gamers in recent times, nothing, just milking their customers on Fortnite. Sure Fortnite VR came out but that's only good for 1% who own VR and have the space for it.

The answer, at the same pace, is "nothing"? So... there you have proper logic at work.
If anything, Epic had a database hack in the early 2000s that leaked my by then primary email address with it's password. Thanks Epic, Steam never did that to our knowledge...

qft. This is the ONLY reason I even consider putting money into the EGS, AW remaster and AW2. Because I can't get them anywhere else. No other reason at all for me personally.
