I wasn't expecting anything until late this year...
Game isn't releasing until next year. And given how long Sam has wanted to make this game, I can see him doing everything he can to make it the best he can.

Taking his time is fine and not rushing this out. We all want the same masterpiece as the first game was. :)

    Exactly.
I'm glad Sam is finally getting to do this. He's long said Alan Wake is his proudest achievement, the game he looks back on the most.

Getting to make a sequel has got to feel amazing for him.

I just noticed, Alan Wake #1 is on offer, -70% (under 4€) on steam right now. I have to get home in time, only 8 hours left.
Or I'll have to check out if the remastered version is worth it.

For me, the worst thing was not seeing the Steam logo appear at the end of the trailer but the one from Epic Games only.

Looks fantastic! Sucks that it's an Epic Games Store exclusive. Guess I'll be waiting a year.

Oh sh|t! I hope not! Guess I'll finally have to purchase from their bare-bones crap store. I've held out for so long!

Alan Wake 2 will be 50$ on PC.

" ... not releasing a disc helps keep the price of the game at $59.99 / €59.99 and the PC version at $49.99 / €49.99. "

Curious, what's so bad about EGS? I've bought a few games from them and never had a problem.

I often prefer to support platforms other than Steam as I am strongly anti monopoly and while Steam has been extremely beneficial for PC gaming, I don't want Valve to have too much power.

    It's a tired debate...
Some dislike their exclusivity deals, spurred by the Metro Exodus exclusivity... that popped up a week before the game released. For a game that was advertised the entire time as coming to Steam, only for it to change last minute.

Some, dislike the platform itself. It lacks basic features of a digital store, has (in the past) shown itself to be insecure.

And, some... just dislike Epic, and more specifically Tim Sweeney.
Not wanting to do business or support a platform that he is behind.

I don't like Epic, because... I'm not a fan of Tim.
And, all of Epic's bluster about trying to combat "Valve's monopoly" on digital PC sales... Epic just want what Valve have.
I have no issue using other stores, I have games on EA's service, Ubisoft's... Blizzards... GOG and Steam.

I will buy Alan Wake 2, because I am going to support Remedy. And I've been waiting 13 years for a sequel to Alan Wake.
But, I'm not happy with it being tied to Epic.
