There is a new bios update AGESA V2 1.2.0.8 for my Gigabyte B450 pro wifi too.
But i'm still on AGESA ComboV1 1.0.0.6 since my motherboard is quite old and has
impact on performance adding more features with bios update.

Updating to the latest bios will be impossible to revert back to my current bios because it's
using a new capsule bios support format. Am i right ?

Well, i just updated my Asrock B550 pro4 to AMD AM4 AGESA Combo V2 PI 1.2.0.A

I am stunned, i got a massive fps boost in BF2042, from 90-100fps to 120-140 (DLSS Balanced Ultra settings) . How is this possible? I can go without dlss on high at 100fps.

Updated to AGESA 1.2.0.A today for my MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max and I have the same performance in BF 2042 as before (1080p, Ultra settings, RT on, DLSS off).

Updated to this new bios on my msi x470 gaming plus max, noticed first that the edc bug is fixed which limited max vcore to 1.425v when edc was 141a or more.
Not happy now that my 5900x is going to 1.5v so reverted back to older bios

Updated no issues here on my Crosshair VIII Hero X570 board.

    Everything works as it should.

    5900X
    RAM 3600MHz CL16 - DOCP ENABLED
    PBO - DISABLED
    CO - ALL CORE -25
CPU VCORE - NEG OFFSET -0.15V
CPU SOC - NEG OFFSET -0.025V
    CSTATES ENABLED
    DFSTATES ENABLED
    CPPC ENABLED
    PREFERRED CORES ENABLED

Still hitting 4.95GHz boost, and maintaing much higher all core speeds at 4.65GHz whereas at default bios settings due to stock voltages being applied way too high and temps getting too hot I was only hitting 4.3-4.4GHz all core.

    OC.jpg

Running CBR23 seems to stress the CPU to most even P95 doesn't get temps as high as CBR23 does. With these settings above I am holding much higher all core clocks (around 200-300MHz higher), still boosting to 4.95GHz but barely reaching 60C on air cooling. Stock BIOS settings with just DOCP enabled the temps would be around the 65-68C range and with PBO enabled I was seeing 70-75C temps.

Hmmm, I might be mistaken, but, I would re-do the voltages as you seem to be suffering core clock strecthing (that's is when effective clock is lower than the core clocks)

    Looked into this.

You are correct, although the difference when fixing this issue is pretty small in terms of CBR23 points. I gained like 300ish points but gained like 5-8C in temps.

I'd thought the difference was higher. What about games, though?

    Edit:
To add context to the games question
When you have core clock stretching, more microstutter can happen. With it fixed, your games should be and feel smoother.

How did you manage to get CO enabled with pbo disabled? Only with pbo to manual does CO appear for me?

Its always there even when I manually disable PBO.

I stand corrected. I just enabled the exact same settings as I listed before but this time left the both the vcore and vddsoc voltages on auto and the CPU all core to 4.45GHz and the effective clock also hit VERY close to 4.4GHz and the resulting CBR23 score was 1500 points higher, which is actually quite a large bump.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention :)

I tend to cap like 90% of my games anyway so it wont be much different but it will help everywhere else :)

Not noticing any difference vs. 1.2.0.8, exact same CPU bound performance numbers in games when loading savegames.

The main things on AGESA Combo V2 PI 1.2.0.A is mainly security,
It fix lot of problem like the one with fTMP security fail, for those that use it...
I have it on one of my computer, nothing bad for now.

I am waiting for it to exit the beta and officially release on the ASUS page, but this is the longest they have ever taken to go from BETA to full release. Maybe because of all the controversy, they might have to now remove the warranty warning message on X570 boards too if they update them (and maybe they are reluctant to do that? who knows, we'll see).
