Well in the AOE3 collectors edition book they had a small book that showed a picture from 5 games. 4 and 5 are where I assumed they wanted to take the series although they never happened. As long as its not like that terrible AOE Online game I'll be happy.
It's the real deal, developed by Relic. Age of Empires/Mythology and Company of Heroes are some of my absolute favorite RTS games, I still play CoH over LAN occasionally. I wonder where they'll take the series. Although every AoE has had a different era, I like the Classical Age (Romans/Greeks) best.
I've been getting the definitive editions thinking "man whoever is making these wonder if they're making a 4th" anyone know if it's the same studio? Ahhh relic even better the company of heroes folks
AoE1 was taking place in ancient ages (until the Fall of Rome). This looks like a remake of 2 - middle ages mostly. Odd, considering the remake of 2 being released this week. Still, it's not WW1/2, which I didn't really look forward to.
While 3 has issues, it's still good (especially with the Improvement mod). It would be odd to re-do it in 4, but stranger things have happened.
I loved AOE2 and 3. I've finished both games a few times. I'm not sure how to say this, but my expectations for AOE4 were much, much higher. I was often thinking about how it could look like and what should they do in the 4th installment and this is simply not it. Judging from these trailers, this game is the biggest disappointment for me so far.
That was super fun to watch! The game is looking great. Is there any word on weather or not this is going to be filled with microtranactions???? I hope I don't see "building speed boosters" or "pay £1 to upgrade to the bronze age".......
