Hi guys. I'm having trouble getting Afterburner to save captures.

When I press the screenshot hotkey, the monitoring window says "Screenshot Captured." but there's no screenshot in the capture folder.

When I press the recording hotkey, a camera icon starts blinking notifying me that it is recording. Pressing the hotkey again does nothing. The camera icon just keep blinking until I close afterburner. It never saves a video.

I have a valid save directory and file formats set up for both screenshots and video captures. How can I go about troubleshooting this? Thanks.

    I have a Core i5, GTX 580, Windows 10 Pro, 8 GB RAM

If I remember correctly, this happens when another application has been detected and hooked, instead of a game.

To check whether that is the case:
    1. Press the "i" button in Afterburner main window.
    2. Scroll down to "Active 3D process"
    3. See if there are extra items listed (apart from your game).
    4. Close Information window.
To add exceptions to avoid having those applications hooked:
    1. Press the "cog" button to open settings.
    2. Go to "On-Screen Display" tab.
    3. Press "More" in the bottom to open RivaTuner Statistics Server settings.
    4. Hold Ctrl and press "Add". All active 3D processes should be listed.
    5. Make sure each extra application has the "tick" next to them, to create new profile for each of them. Click "Ok".
    6. Go to each of the profiles you just created, and set "Application detection level" to "None" for each of them.
    7. Close RTSS settings, close AB settings.

Small useful note: step 6 can be skipped if you hold <Shift> instead of <Ctrl> in step 4. <Ctrl> + "Add" adds profiles for currently active 3D applications. <Shift> + "Add" adds exclusions (profiles with application detection level set to "None").

Yeah I know this is an old issue, but since this thread is already necromanced I'll give an answer to that issue:
well... You disabled any hooking for global profile (detection level:none), so how should RTSS supposed to be taking screenshots?
in global profile enable low detection level or at least make profiles for each game you want to take screenshots from.
