I think you should desaturate a little and contrast a little more
Keep it Vanilla. You're going to get 15,000 suggestions, and 15,000 differences of opinion on this. Everyones monitor is different, everyones preferences is difference.. Again.. Keep it Vanilla and don't fix what isn't broke.
Bad idea. You'll never please everyone with color grading. Personally I like the vanilla game as is. If I want to get fancy I'll start tweaking SweetFX.
Colorgrading really looks just fine as it is now. As people here mostly want the "E3" look, I guess you could try use that as a reference but it just seems to be a bit darker with more contrast; not a lot of colorgrading.
no sli stutter over here neither.(1080) using titanZ driver.
How would I implement this with the latest version of TheWorse's mod?
Are you looking into the fps reduction when raining? Your current mod seems to destroy my fps only when it is raining.
It's recommendable to use the SweetFX? What are the improvements with it?
I decided to change the colorgrading to be just slighly different from vanilla, just a bit of contrast increase and a tiny desaturation should do it. Not a noticiable difference.
This is TheWorse's mod, with default render settings
just replace files in game folder and do the test
Now if only we could have some caustic effects when boating under a bridge...
Didn't HL2 already have caustics?
Why ask for opinions and then go against what everyone suggested? This is why this mod is all over the place.. Just stick with what works and stop changing things for the sake of changing things.
Is it possible to make a version with the colorgrading the same as vanilla?
Some scenes look really bad with the current settings imo, especially the brightness and HDR (I think?). An example being the cutscene at the end of the "Planting A Bug" mission. BedBug looked grey lol
You can achieve that with SweetFX
Why are you being so hard on me? I asked you guys if you wanted changes like more blueish colors or something. And then you guys say vanilla so instead of that I change this slighly, which does not make a considerable difference on it.
The difference is really small, just for people who are using it on default brightness and contrast settings.
Also not everyone can run sweetfx or know about it.
Honestly just keep it Vanilla. The amount of requests will just pour in and will just side track your work. Tell us how to go about changing the color grading and let the community change to their preference.
Because I told you early on how to do this. My history here doesn't reflect it but trust me.. I've been in the development and mod scene for a long time. You're suffering from a severe case of Obsessive Compulsive Modding Syndrome. If you don't change something you feel you aren't doing anything.. So you change **** just for the sake of changing ****.. Stop doing that..
Again.. I told you.. To work on one thing at a time.. Finish it to perfect then move on.. Yet every release you keep changing things just for the sake of changing them and then adding new changes on top of those changes and it's a cluster****.
Just STOP changing things.. You're in a perpetual state of change and have yet to actually put out anything that is a daily driver.
Everybody should know that but sadly no ..
Vanilla settings on colors, please.
Work on tweaking and improving the dynamic DOF effect (which looks beautiful, especially during explosions and rainy weather), bloom and headlight shadows before going onto the next effects.
Colorgrading was never an issue, so don't worry about it for now. Come back to it later after you've become familiar with it.
