SweetFX works for me on Win 8.1, just use this guide:
    www.overclock.net/t/1485750/how-to-use-sweetfx-in-windows-8-1#post_22182285

Just disable DoF and Motion blur with in-game options.

I think we need some wiki in first post, same questions over and over.

    @TheWorse
Great progress, keep up the good work!

Anyone have before and after shots in "broad daylight"? I see very little difference.

Please TheWorse, except for your beautiful patch, what is your sweetfx preset ?
Do you use something else except your patch and sweetfx ?

    Sorry for our harrasment :-(
Perhaps you need to update your first post with more side info, as your sweetFX preset.

    Thanks dude :)

One thing I forgot to mention about the v0.7 mod I tried last night was that I did one mission which was a shootout in an old abandoned warehouse with no lighting (you were supposed to set traps but I just blasted my way through with a grenade launcher...hey, why not!). It was early evening when I started it, at which point I could see fine. However, I died and the game moved on several hours so it was later at night and I couldn't see anything except for the outlines of the enemies and hackable items/cameras!

I never got the chance to try it without the mod as I died twice and on the third attempt it was early morning and light enough to see and finally complete the mission. Is that a result of this mod or how the mission is meant to be? Night time lighting in the city seems perfectly fine but of course there are lights there from lamps and cars as well as windows.

Thank you guys! I'm using my own sweetfx preset, I'll post it after I make some changes. It's based on buoloutaur's injector which adds gaussian sharpness filter, I made some changes to include a better contrast better colors and added defog to eliminate some a little bit of blue and green from the final picture.

I agree that I'm also having this bug, can TheWorse comment on what is causing this and when he will be able to provide a fix for it, as I know it didn't happen in such a pronounced way before the mod.

Also, I saw that TotalBiscuit has made a video about this mod and posted a link to this thread. It was an interesting debate about whether Ubisoft ultimately gimped the PC version for console parity or whether it was just incompetence on their part that a modder was able to achieve in a few weeks what they apparently couldn't do in six months!

Those are both disabled in game and in the xml file. Running the patch seems to enable those regardless. Maybe I'm missing someplace else to change them?

    Performance only please?

    Hey dude,
While I was blown away by the graphics you achieved by modding; I read that you also improved upon stability/performance.

Is there any chance you could please show us how to mod the graphics or make a performance only mod?
I don't care if it ends up looking like San Andreas-like graphics. I just want to play.

I don't have a high-end system anymore and I would like to play WD without it crashing every few minutes. :bang:

    Thanks for your time.

@ AndyLin40 - Looking at your config file, you have Quality set to "optimal" so you must have changed that. You need to change that to "ultra" in order for this mod to work (along with those two patch files in the required game folder).
