@TheWorse i think there are too fog, can you reduce the fog? the colors are too blade....
Nothing to excuse for, man.
I've already posted about it with screen proofs (see below again).
Although Maldo himself states his mod is made to be used at High, so the reproduced textures will be like Ultra, it does make a huge difference at Medium Textures, test it for yourself. Colors, textures (roads, rocks, magazines, ground tree leaves and etc), Aiden's coat textures as well.
As we know, images say more than words, so...
I won't even use Medium Vanilla to compare, because it's just ridiculous quality, so you'll see it better against High Vanilla:
HIGH Textures + Ultra settings (Vanilla)
MEDIUM Textures + Ultra settings (TW 0.8 + Maldo)
Medium + Maldo is clearly superior to High Vanilla itself.
Medium Vanilla can't even show the wood's detail at the pier to the right of the screen, or the textures/shadows on the rocks. I don't even need to mention differences about water...
Thanks for sharing the screen shots. Great!
Exelente!!! UN 10!!!
Thats simply perfect!!!!!
Sorry for my repeating this but.. Whit Maldos textures your new textures will be in??? (ex the new car lights)
And this new textures will work on high???
So is the new version coming with Maldo's textures or is that just what you were testing?
Please someone tell me the software that I can use to open patch.dat. Thanks
You have to include MalDo's textures by your own. The version with MalDo's textures have to be uploaded by another person, like in v0.8, i think. Because TheWorse has low upload speed and the patch.dat has over 1GB with MalDo's textures.
I want to include Maldos textures and I found them in v8 but V.97 is a patch.dat file and I can't open it to put maldos textures in it. Please tell me software to open file. PLEASE HELP!!
I'll upload the mod with MalDo textures during night, so it should be ready for tomorrow.
And if you get better performance with other mods, go ahead and use them. I'm not going to decrease the overall quality of the game just for 5 fps. I optimized the game as much as I can.
no problem mate !! its your decision and keep up the excellente work !!
Still could someone tell me what software to open Patch.dat to open the file. I want to experiment with putting maldos textures in the worse's mod and then putting Sunsets textures in the mod to see which gives me better performance. Please help a fellow gamer and if you help me you will get good karma
Sure. Here is a complete comparison, also with closer looks to Aiden's coat so everyone can tell the difference I mentioned earlier. All of the screenshots were taken during Noon TOD.
Believe me, they are HUGE!
Obs.: Luckily it was raining, so we can compare the effects, as well.
MEDIUM Textures (Vanilla)
MEDIUM Textures (The Worse 0.97v + Maldo Textures)
HIGH Textures (Vanilla)
HIGH Textures (The Worse 0.97v + Maldo Textures)
First page updated with 0.97b download link
I really hope to see rain drips, heavier fog, and all the lens flares/car lights working the right way on this mod. Keep up this **** TheWorse :hatty:
If you're trying to download the mod go to his blog.
Thanks for the reply bro, 5 fps could mean the difference for some folks, but I understand and your stance is duly noted. I'm sorry to hear that from you though.
When modders decide to help those in the community with poor performance like me they'll only be helping the PC modding community further. I just hope you understand it's nothing personal if I end up supporting a mod that allows for more performance instead. Still looking forward to trying out your latest release though.
Now THAT is a good comparison. It's interesting how the removal of the mips makes even the MEDIUM MalDo textures look better than the HIGH Vanilla textures. Thanks again for the comparison, bro.
I'll certainly have to try out these MalDo textures, where is the latest download from him? Although I do have performance issues with vanilla "high" textures, I dont think MalDo's textures will remedy that even though they do look considerably sharper. I'll probably just end up using Vanilla Medium since it's the ONLY setting I have to have to keep my older PC from stuttering like crazy.
When I say I'm not going to decrease the overall quality of the game in order to just get 5fps I mean about lod and shadow settings. Its not a performance mod, I'm just trying to optimize a bit more what ubisoft should of done.
Hey, I'm trying the new .97b version, but still there's so much fog.
Otherwhise the mod is cool, good performance and better looks.
Keep on the good work.
13... Can't even play on SLI
