Advice on my new rig please

    Well many thanks!!

    I notice you have a Xonar....im thinking of getting one...the DX/XD or D2x.

    Reviews seem to suggest either are good with the D2x having DTS...Im needing one for on the fly Dolby Digital Live encoding for games and for very occasional recording of me on the guitar (alas not midi).

    Would you reccomend one?

    I absolutely love my Xonar DX, so yes I'd recommend a Xonar. The stock sound quality is noticeably better than my onboard sound from Realtek ALC1200, and I'm not even using 'audiophile' headphones. However once the equalizer has been customized to suit my taste and Dolby Headphone enabled, it's a different world altogether. I enable/disable DH based on what I'm doing, it doesn't suit some sound sources as well as others (can depend on music genre, game, etc. as well as the headphones themselves). I haven't used it for DTS though so can't comment on that.
