I'm having freezing issues related to madVR with a Samsung QN90A when playbacking content on TV, but not on my Benq monitor (the PC freezes after arround 20 seconds when a video is paused, but not when playing it, happens everytime). I don't know if is an issue with AMD driver or madVR itself.

I think you can be certain that system freezes aren't madVR's fault. Windows can't be ruled out, but likely driver issue.

    Keep things on topic.

While I'm not experiencing any performance issue with Adrenalin 21.11.x series of drivers, a weird desktop issue has cropped up. I'd installed Adrenalin 21.11.3 (same thing happened on 21.11.2), the Adrenalin control panel option has disappeared when I right click on desktop. I'd pinned the Adrenalin CP as a shortcut on taskbar, but when I clicked on it, it says that the version of Adrenalin CP is no compatible with the driver (or something to that effect), will have to take a screenshot and submit this bug to AMD. While I can still game, and my card performs as normal, I cannot get into Adrenalin CP and set a preset fanspeed and undervolt...

Smells like you've been experimenting with the UWP drivers, and running the UWP CP with standard drivers.

That's the thing, I did a normal install of the AMD driver I'd downloaded here, initially worked fine, then this issue cropped up. I know the MS Store driver is separate from regular drivers. I did NOT installed any driver from MS Store. I ain't new to AMD drivers, been using AMD GPU since the ATi days.

I would grab the AMD Uninstall Tool and just have it wipe everything, then reboot and reinstall.

i wish they include "limit fps" option into game profiles, i need that for few older games. now it's only available in general settings.

You can use Chill to do that. Set FPS targets to the same for low and high.

And you can have per game profiles in the Radeon Software.

Chill is not reliable with low GPU load (he mentioned older games). Though FRTC has input lag of hell, I'd try DXVK limiter or RTSS instead.

Rtss seems to be the best dont use chill or frtc.

Why is that. Chill works fine for me.

Until it doesn't. I thought it worked fine for me too in War for the Overworld. But when using the possession spell to control a unit, Chill simply turned off due the the lower GPU load. Its design is just flawed.

I find when I use DXVK, I don't need to use a limiter, as it doesn't share the hitching issue of DirectX when at maxfps, and going in to / out of full vsync.

I've not had any noticeable input lag when using either frtc or chill at my 144hz, tho I always make sure any form of vsync is off in game config or drivers.
