Acer announces two new gaming monitors with some world first designs. The Acer XB270HU is the world’s first NVIDIA G-SYNCÂ gaming monitor equipped with IPS technology, and the Acer XG270HU i... Acer XB270HU WQHD Gsync with IPS panel
They announce connectivity options and response time for the XG model, but not for the XB-gsync model.. Nonetheless, I'm still excited on how this 144hz IPS panel performs.
Oooh finally. Certainly did not expect it from Acer. But be prepared for a ludicrous price tag. I'll just wait for an IPS 1080p 60Hz with Freesync. Hopefully the other brands follow suit so the tech goes up and price goes down :nerd:
Are both monitors IPS 144Hz? If so then woah, I like my good ol' Dell U2711, and even though it's also 27" and 1440p IPS, the 144Hz refresh rate and gsync from these badboys is awesome! Now if only someone would release a 1440p, IPS, 144Hz, g-sync AND a bigger size (preferably over 30") now THAT would be an instant buy for me. Even so, these 2 are very appealing as well.
I'm not sure, there both WQHD and there both 144Hz, however I think one is IPS (one with round stand) and the other maybe a TN panel, problem is is that I like the aesthetic of the red one with the thin bezels and I think thats the TN
Finally, a G-Sync IPS monitor. However, I didn't expect the 144Hz, and I think the price will be much higher because of that feature. Maybe a 120Hz monitor can be cheaper.
Yeah the 2nd one (XG270HU) is just TN. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2863...and-g-sync-to-a-high-res-monitor-at-last.html
U think there is any hope that dell will release a u3014 gsync upgrade kit? I can't give up this monitor even tho i rly want a faster response time g synch wouldnt be a bad compromise if i can get it
G Sync and freesync isn't about response time, it's syncing the refresh of the monitor to the input frame rate. You need NVIDIA to use G Sync, as well as around an extra $100 on monitor price. This extra price may come down in the future for competitive reasons, but since it's extra hardware required it will unlikely ever be as cheap as freesync.
I almost wonder if the 144Hz on the IPS monitor is an accident when writing the article...I almost don't believe it really If this wasn't Acer I would be really really excited about this...have they improved as a company recently? I haven't bought acer stuff in about 8 years but before that their stuff (monitors, laptops) was absolute garbage
G-Sync IPS monitor... Hallelujah !!! ... Directly in my shopping list, price is not the matter here !
Guess i can skip the Asus ROG Swift for now and wait for these. Not sure about the price, as it's Acer, maybe it's not overpriced.
