Don't care about VR at all but this game is pretty good (PS4 Pro version) so far with v. nice presentation, a great framerate and thrilling air combat. Likely won't be remembered as one of 2019 best games but it's still a very good game IMO. Will also be picking this up on PC as well when it releases next week.
Looks great, gonna wait for the Steam version as well! I can't recall ever playing a (semi-)flightsim with a SP story.
The VR is great, extremely well done. It's the one place where VR really stands out in gaming, simulation. I could never play DCS or Dirt Rally on a flat screen again, it's rubbish compared to VR. Obviously, there is no way AC7 was going to go full VR but it's a great implementation nonetheless.
NAMCO IS A GREAT COMPANY, SINCE THE DAYS OF THE ARCADE, I LOVE THIS COMPANY THEY DO ALWAYS MAKE QUALITY GAMES
@DocStrangelove One of my favorite aircraft of all time, I cannot wait until it finally releases in DCS.
Noice - I was pleased with Assault Horizon / PC so I'm happy to see the new trend of Ace Combat non-mobile/non-free-to-play(Infinity) releasing on PC. I will be getting this for my rig... indeed I still remember growing up playing Shattered Skies & Unsung War as a kid... good memories ... what a good series man'
Really looking forward to this, always enjoyed the Ace Combat games and I'm glad it's coming out on PC so I can use my HOTAS which I hope this game will be compatible with (I'm sure it will) Thrustmaster T.16000m FCS HOTAS (Stick and throttle, two devices) I use it in Elite Dangerous to great effect.
@Hilbert Hagedoorn Will you be reviewing performance of this title by any chance? I always remember you reviewing and enjoying Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.
Native support Thrustmaster hotas 4 for pc ps4. Will continue play with gamepad anyway. Hard difficulty sounds better i guess
Anyone annoyed with the atrociously short draw distance in AC7 (no doubt due to the lacklustre CPUs in the consoles) will be pleased to know that there's an easy to add INI tweak that can drastically improve pop in with only a small hit to performance. Tweak, which also includes how to enable TAA, is detailed here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/502500/discussions/0/1777135944140331772/ I'm playing the game at 2560x1440 on maxed out Ultra settings with 150% resolution scaling (4K downsampling) and I still get 70+ fps on my ageing i7-4770K @ 4.0 GHz, 16 GB, GTX 1080 Ti, Windows 10 Pro v1809 PC. This is with draw distance set to 10 but it can be lowered to 6 while still allowing for a decent draw distance that shames the original PC and console versions.
Love the game, just played the first 2 missions with the F16. Love the atmosphere and the action. Playing with a 360 controller so i'm avoiding all that joystick support BS. The music is epic as well. Perfect game to keep me busy until Division2 is out
Yeah, their specialty, same thing with Capcom and great writing to laugh at! Kinda know what you're getting into without being required to look.
