sup, yea i just got an fx 5700 ultra, did a reformat, installed latest drivers and everything. I cannot find out why my AA or AF will not turn on when i set it to 2/4x in the panel. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
i have no clue, all i can think of is try installing another pair of drivers, drivers that are a little older, not the latest.
Uninstal, the drivers and use Driver Cleaner 2 or Nasty Bits to clear up : what driver were you using anyway?
look 2x AA on NVIDIA FX cards dont look nice. I have 5900U on which 2xAA does not look like its turned on but its on if you look close, its just that it wont work good enough. To see the real difference I have to enable atleast 4XAA and 8XAF.
I have riva tuner. I don't think I changed any settings on it. And I ran 3dmark03 with 4xAA and got a score of like 1000 then ran it with no AA and got like 4100. How come 3dmark03 will recognize AA but not any of my games? And is 4100 a normal score for a 5700U not o/ced?
try reinstall of Riva You might try uninstall and reinstall of Riva. That helps me out whenever I update/upgrade video cards or drivers.
Splooshy Specs? Any system specs in your profile might help out too...even if your machine is a factory unit like mine (HP) no worries.... I will be watching this thread because my 5700 Ultra should be here soon. It is best Nvidia I have seen for a 250 watt power supply which my factory machine sports. Next step of course after learning from reading these threads/forums this past year is to build my own rig - these guys have a lot of good info.... G/L
barton 2500+ @ 2.1 enlight 360 watt psu wd 80 gb gd epox 8rda+ i think my AA/AF works fine. I believe there is some kind of bug with NFSU that causes AA/AF not to work when you turn motion blur on. It was the only game I was using to test, dumb me.
Altering the intellisample performance tab to high performance affects 2x and especially 4x antialiasing a lot on my XFX 5700U I would recommend 4x AA 8x AF overclocked with the intellisample performance on -high performance- mode.
My 8xAA doesn't work at all for me...only on drivers 52.16 and under, but those have problems with BF1942 mods It also makes like, 6xAA lag REALLY REALLY bad, i dunno i dont need AA that much anyways
hey BFA at what resolution you play? I am not having any problems with AA on my 5900U with any of the cards. By the way off topic but hey Osama, i have made your face
Any Benchmarking? Hiya Splooshy, Guessin' your specs are enough some better than mine for a 5700 Ultra. Have you tried benchmarking? Sounds like it just the game though.. I got my 5700u and at first thought I had a lemon - that is going to be part of a separate post - maybe an answer or two will be there for both of us. So check out my post soon it will be regarding more on the 5700u.. No matter what - Game On & Have Fun!
Dude check out... ...post regarding flashing and other weirdness with 5700u. I wrote a possible solution there that might work, well at least it worked for me so far Key is that power supply....plus the cleaning... G/L Thor
