So my PSU blew up loudly and brightly. I think 700W was more than I needed, and I'm looking at this replacement, which is a 550 "80+ Bronze" model from Superflower.

Any reason why this might not be a good purchase for my rig? Interestingly the images on Google are different to the images on Overclockers.

I'm after a simple quality PSU that won't blow up or fry the PC by accident.

    Thanks

    Hi there

I've PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 750W PSU on my previous build which has been in my great,I've never have any issues with this PSU,on my spec with X5670 OC to 4.2GHz and R9 290 OC to 1150/1500 plus several normal HDD(7) and two SSD etc

Not sure on this above you are posted, but should work on yours,I've good experience with OCZ or EVGA,with Corsair I've mixed experience, one failed within 6 months and straight away I've replaced with above mentioned Silencer 750W

Did you check this EVGA Supernova 550W

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Supern...d=1445546330&sr=8-3&keywords=550w+modular+psu

And regarding different pictures of this PSU,I think UK version can be different from other and seems on their website I can see they're using similar system like as my Silencer

    Please have look on those

Which looks like which you are posted from Amazon website

Hope this helps and good luck there

    Thanks,Jura
