I would like such a card for some really nice things I would like to do. For example rendering Paint frames REALLY fast... or even (careful now) viewing a "movie" ~~~ :D

Not only is it other, it also falls under PowerVR and Matrox, as well... So, that settles the debate as to where it belongs... LOL

Who's had a look at the new 512 MB WildCat, btw? That thing looks sweet...

wow that's a huge one... by the way: how do you connect those cards? This one is dual PCI but the others? AGP? PCI? Firewire 800?

Couldn't we need this for gaming as well? Or is it too expensive to built cards for that?

    Probably this can help:

    http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/product/markeditorial.html?prodkey=pci64bit

Probably it would be a good idea to produce gamer hw on that bus system, I don't know.
I think with PCI-X, the next-gen PCI bus, the PCI64 also will become outdated.

You can get mobos for that at egay eh ebay - but I don't think you'll get a "normal" videocard / soundcard / LAN adapter for pci64.
That's why PCI64-boards usually have some normal pci32-slots as well.

LOL Danke, auch Student und auch Ferien? :D

From what I've read so far, 32bit PCI buses don't slow down your system anyway because the rest of it is running @ 32bit as well... So no need in such a mainboard right now :)

Student nicht, aber Schüler und da haben wir in Schleswig-Holstein so neue Ferien... "Winterferien" weil sich die Eltern immer beschwert haben, dass sie nie Skifahren gehen können ^^

I'm still going for the double-Xeon FireGL combo...

That thing is still running for 10000$?

I'm too enthralled with XFrog (this thing is AMAZING!) to care about gfx cards right now (btw - I don't know why, but something tells me that auction ain'T quite right - that's the type of deal I was telling you about that I'd gotten into once) ... :D

Do hope mine comes soon, though...

Move over Radeon 9800 Pro, I'm gonna check out this Matrox card.

Edit: Some of the features look like the 9800. Only thing that looked really good was like 16x FSAA but it said it might now work will all aplications.
