Was wondering if someone would review the effect of the 9900K on SLI utilization as I wonder if there is even a bottleneck anymore on a card like a 1080 in SLI? For example I benchmarked using 3dMark Firestrike benchmark each card scored like 23000 score on a 6700K rig @ 4.0ghz and the same cards scored 33000 roughly on the 9900K @ 5.0 ghz with the same benchmark. Would assume that the 10000 increase in point was from the physics score. According to just the graphic tests there was only a 4-12 % increase in the graphics performance. Are any of you guys getting similar results?

    Thanks

Edit: Individually each card scored 15000 on the 6700K @ 4.0 Ghz and 22000 points on the 9900K at 5.0 ghz.

No they're at 8X/8X I believe as the motherboard is a Gigabyte Auros Master Z390.

    x8/x8
    x8/x4/x4

    The x8/x8 won't bottleneck.

And try to benchmark using another software { *DirectX 12 does NOT support SLI}.

Both system has latest drivers AND USING SAME OS?

    Benchmark results screenshots available?

DX12 supports SLI just fine. It is more that several newer games use rendering techniques which are not SLI or Crossfire friendly. Also you cannot use x4 for SLI period. It requires a x8 PCIe slot.

The x8/x8 will bottleneck if you have gsync or Taa etc on.
Its well tested, Gsync will absolutely saturate the bandwidth on x8/x8

Ive never actually seen an official article on it. Head over to 3d center though as Blaire has tested it extensively.

I think he is on here too.

Taa methods and gsync will saturate the pcie bandwidht giving lower gpu usage when enable.

Ive seen it on any frostbite game, Witcher 3, Rainbow six siege, escape from tarkov, FF15.

Its well known on sli threads
