Thinking I may have to go reference again due to mb spacing on the asus z97 deluxe mb. Wondering if anybody has successfully run with the acx cooler on these cards in a similar mb? The acx cooler seems to be 2 slot variety. Any use getting the classified vs regular acx model?

MSI 980ti Gaming cards have a two slot cooler if my memory serves, and it's one of the best available of the range.

Guru has a solid review of it.

It's one of the top options for single cards, arguably the top for SLI in my opinion.

You tend to go EVGA from what I've seen, could be fun to try a different brand out and you really can't go wrong with MSI of late. They've been very impressive for a few years now.

It appears to be, any conformation on that? Browsing with my cell fone. Evga for the warranty only. I'm open to other brands.

I can confirm MSI's 9x0 range to be fantastic personally, from having messed around with other peoples equipment. I think eclap has a MSI 970, so he'll probably vouch for them also. I'd say give the review a read, not fun on a phone I know but from all I've read on 980ti's? I'd go MSI if I was going SLI.

I can absolutely confirm that the MSI 980ti Gaming has a 2 slot cooler if nothing else.

    Yeap u are right :)

"the TFV cooler/card is only a bit over 1.5" wide (double slot) so there is ample room if you want to stuff a couple of these into your PC."

Try something new, the MSI 980ti Gaming cards are pretty sweet.

I didn't actually realise the cooling solution was that small, that's really impressive.

I'd go for it if I was buying, I've read a few reviews for 980ti's but out of them all the MSI's seem almost designed around SLI use.

Should last a couple years easy. I would of kept the 780ti sli as they still perform very well but they are promised to my boy. It's his turn now to lose sleep over the bogus kepler degradation crap. I just read about it again in the amd section. So it must be true.

    You're a good father mate, you've a lucky kid.

I'm pretty sure 980ti's will give you 2-3 years solid with high settings.

The Kepler shat is just that, people who don't want to understand the differences in architecture and modern titles. There's no grand conspiracy, anyone with sense knows that. I do think Nv should allow a person to alter the level of tessellation the way AMD does however, which would solve most of Keplers issues in the titles they have 'problems' in.

Definitely would love a tessellation slider in the drivers or nvidia inspector.

It should come as standard tbh.

So.. do you think you'll go MSI 980TI Gaming?

They'll look sweet in a build if you're into that sort of thing, 1.5 inch... still surprising.

Unless there are some differing opinions looks like I am going with 2 980ti gaming cards. Can't order for about 8 hrs or so, I'll look at the thread in the morning.

If I was going air cooling I'd be picking two MSI Gaming as well.
