9800XT power ??

When my pc starts up a get a red line across my screen saying that there is no power cable connected to my 9800XT grapics card, but there is power connected ??

This does not happen all of the time, but now its doing it more often and doing my head in........:frown:

 

Maybe contact of power connectors is poor. Sometimes contact surfaces get corrossion over time which affects that. Try another connector.

If that doesn't help prepeare for imminent vga-card failure.

 

Sad news the card as now died..:cry:, only 6 months old from evil bay..

Ah well, gives you an excuse to upgrade and by the looks of it, you need one.

 

PC not used for gaming anymore, all I need is decent card that will do my 22" screen some justice...

 

Ah ok. I'd recommend a cheap 2600 Pro or something, will do the job for your 22" with movies etc.

 

Even a 2400Pro or XT would be well suited for that job and they're cheaper.
