i would test real games, instead of demos, demos have nearly 0 3D load... so it always the most powerfull card will give you better results in demos...

Actually, the 7600GT is faster than the 8600GT. nVidia changed the naming scheme slightly. The 8600GT replaced the 7600GS, and the 8600GTS replaced the 7600GT.

i want to put a 8600gts in my system aswell. I can understand the fact that a better Nvidia card runs physx better but wil it be worth while for me that dont have any Nvidia cards in my system to put a 8600gts in for physx?

OK, I just ran my favorite PhysX game "Unreal Tournament III" on my new Core i7 920 / ASUS P6T Deluxe / GTX260 system and it rips into the game like a rabid dog,.....on crack! Using my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / Gigabyte P35C-DS3R / 8800GT 512MB based system on "Unreal Tournament III" was great too but as soon as I ran a PhysX map the FPS went into the dirt. About ~30 FPS give or take on PhysX maps down from ~120 FPS or so on non-PhysX maps. On the Core i7 system it hits the ground running at about ~160 FPS on PhysX maps and stays about at that level.

I don't feel as if I need a dedicated PhysX card on this system since the GTX260 does well enough on its own. Maybe the Q6600 system could use it.

    All I can say is,..."WOW".:)

I used my set up of 280gtx and 9600gt PPU for the Cryostasis demo and it performed better with using a dedicated PPU than without. Maybe like stated earlier, the demo needs to be taxing enough on the GPU to get any benefit out of using a dedicated PPU.
