If you're going to OC any of those CPUs, it'll be good with GX2.

Any CPU out now will bottleneck the 9800GTX.

It's just a matter of how much, and if it really matters.

Who cares if we only get 100FPS instead of 200FPS in a certain game, it's still way higher than the monitor can show or our eyes reliably detect!

My rig gets 16,660 in 3DMARK06, and 197,000 in Aquamark3.

I've seen guys with stock E8400s getting 207,000 in Aquamark3, so they are definitely worth it for single threaded apps.

The Wolfdales are very good chips, but still only have 2 cores and will lose out in properly multithreaded applications.

I feel you on that, I sold my car and have extra money. On top of that I have my rig for sale on EBAY

So right now I have $1700-$1900 to build a new rig.

Trying to cut corners here and there though. My PC is always on 24-7 and I always have Firefox open with like 15 tabs :) Outlook 2003,Winamp,Safari,AIM, then ill leave all that open and go play Supreme Commander

Thats the only game I play guys...that and Madden 2008

    You don't even need GX2 then. Just get the 8800GTS G92. It's about $200.

Any cpu that runs or will overclock to 3ghz will be fine for the GX2.

And yes m8 you do need one it rocks, i change from a ultra and it just blows it away. Perfect for me wanting the best performance but not haveing a sli mobo.
