It's not noisy if you also flash the card with the BIOS that belongs to the EVGA's that ship with the ACX 2.0.
But on the other hand, I didn't overclock my card further then what the BIOS is set to (1102MHz/1190MHz & 7010MHz).

Yeah temps for me were mid 70's (like you) when oc'd to 1450 region, but i didnt find the noise acceptable. But everyone has different tolerances for noise and I understand it depends on the case and what your other fans are like etc etc
Anything over 40% on those fans and they would start to distract me. And it would ramp up that those speeds pretty quickly when oc'd

Ive been putting Accelero Xtremes on my cards since the 8800 Ultra so ive got used to quiet gpu cooling.
Hence the AIO setup I have on this now.

How? I thought that was only possible by flashing the BIOS :)

Btw, remember the GPU usage problem I had earlier in DA:I? It's gone :) And I really didn't do anything special (except got my Internet back). Sure, there was a big patch and I also repaired the installation, so maybe that's what it was :p I also got a few WU (not had internet for almost two weeks).

So all I need now is to raise PT to 120% or something so it doesn't downclock :)

Yeah I did flash bios, but not with a custom one... well, a custom one, but just changed pt from original. :D

I see, you edited it yourself in the nVidia BIOS tool? :)

Hey guy's I don't usually ask this kind of thing but does anyone have an extra MGS5: Phantom Pain key? It's looking less likely I will be getting a new card this year.

If I did I`d give it to you, the game wasn`t out when I bought my cards.

    Help please,

In few weeks i'm buying 980 Ti, but don't know which one to choose.

First i was thinking about getting Gigabyte's G1, but then i heard a lot of complaints about coil whine, so i'm not really into it anymore. I have Gigabyte's 970 Windforce now and i can't complain, but if coil whine really is such a problem on their version of 980 Ti i'm thinking of avoiding it.

Next one is MSI GTX 980TI Gaming. What about it? Is it good? I'm a little worried about their cooling, is it good? Does it get hot under heavy gaming?

And then we have ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme (ZT-90505-10P). Seems like a beast of a card, but it's expensive and it consumes quite a lot of power, cca 325W. How is that card? And whats the story about that cooler? Some people are complaining and saying that they work in a strange way?!

Right now i have XFX 550W Gold PSU and i know it would be enough for MSI 980 Ti, but what about Zotac's edition? I have i6 4690K @ default clock, 16 GB of ram, 1TB HDD and 120GB SSD. Will that PSU be enough for Zoltac? I dont plan to OC it with it.

Well it may depend on where you live (palit hnnng).

I'd go g1 for air and the MSI if I were to do the AIO cooling thing.

any of those cards are good, palit is the quietest of them all :D

they're all good performers, doesn't really matter which one you pick, I know the G1 can get loud in higher fan speeds... (it's what the windforce cooler does). Though if you're using it in a single card config then you should be fine.

Look at the prices and see which is best, performance wise I don't think there's any difference. Take what's cheapest, the palit 980 ti sj was that for me.

i have no problem with the cooling on the MSI 980TI gaming 6gb in games it sits between 60/75 i am running @ 3440x1440 on the mainscreen to two extra screens and 20 and a 18 for team speak and the like.
On idle the fan does not run at all, but as i have three monitors my card (nivdia thing) will not run at idle runs at 900mhz so my temp is 50 on idle so i made a fan profile so it runs at 15 prct it now runs at 40/45 idle 70 full load , i cannot hear the fans

Pretty much this, the performance of these cards are all similar and once over clocked become beasts. My reference GTX 980TI is sitting at 1232Mhz base core and runs constantly at 1522mhz in boost with 4Ghz Mem after my bios flash. Before that it would run at 1200Mhz core & 1430Mhz boost. My Palit ref GTX cost me £550 on release and at the time was the cheapest one going, nothing special about it either just a reference design (needed for Titan X water blocks).

When the heatings on I'm pushing 77 degrees ingame which seems pretty high going by EVGA Precision having it set to throttle at 84??!! I have a custom profile which is pretty much 50 percent at 50 degrees 60 percent at 60 and so on and its not exactly noisy but why is the temp for throttling so low? Ive been out this game for years but I'm sure gpus used to be able to get a lot hotter before they would be at throttling temps??
