Amd will lower the price imo. The fury pro has piss poor overclocking like the fury x. 75mhz or so overclock in 2015 is laughable. Hard ocp has a fury review pitted against a 10 month old 980. http://m.hardocp.com/article/2015/07/10/asus_strix_r9_fury_dc3_video_card_review/#.VaF7KYHD-BY
Overclocking is limited by CCC not by hardware (as far as we know). If when Unwinder gets hold of a Fury X, if he can't unlock it for us then what the **** AMD.
Well I finally managed to get some proper game time with these cards and they are really pretty impressive. Coming from a single 290x obviously the performance improvement is huge. Been playing Witcher 3 tonight and maxed out (hairworks off) I've gone from about 35 fps average to 85 fps average -awesome!
What kind of tweaks are you running on Witcher 3? 85 seems low for 2 of these cards. I average about 70 with hair works off and a few shadow tweaks.
Yeah, my resolution is what made the upgrade worth it for me. A single 290x was starting to get a bit borderline at 2560 in certain games.
Just picked up my Zotac. I love it except I'm getting a lot of driver crashes. Clean installs with DDU on multiple different driver releases makes no difference. I hear i'm not the only one and that the drivers are just **** this time around. Unfortunate. If there is a solution, i'm all ears.
Are you using the Hotfix driver which addresses the TDR crashes? Either 353.38 or 353.49 are crash free for me.
I tried the .38 with no luck. I guess i'll give .49 a try even though the release notes didn't look like they fixed my problem. Thanks.
I've tried it with a mild overclock and stock clocks, didn't seem to make a difference. The display driver crashes just the same. I suppose it could be an unstable card by itself but I want to test a bit more.
The 980ti classy seems to be sold out everywhere I looked. Looking to get 2 though. Need cards with the 2 slot acx cooler due to motherboard spacing.
I'm also getting those crashes with an 970. Overclocked or stock. I didn't use to get them a few months back so I'm suspecting a driver issue as well. Unless the card became unstable by itself.
Very nice but at what settings? I think my average is around 70-75 at Ultra, Grass High, HairWorks off. Sure, you got a way beefier CPU too. Comparing 970 SLI and 980Ti should be viable. Tried any other games?
