Just for reference, my ASIC score is 75% and I have 1460/8000 @ 1187mV rock solid
Yeah that's normal I don't think they account for ASIC.
ASIC gives you no guarantees that your card will hit a given clock, but assuming your card overclocks just as well as mine, you should be able to use same voltages or slightly lower
For reference I could do 1500/8000 in the winter lol @ 1.218v, for 3dmark I could go as high as 1515
More sane clocks are 1490/8000 @ 1.212v that was very stable
1480/8000 @ 1.193v
1460/8000 @ 1.187v
What I did is I found the point where I needed voltage boost for tiny clock increase (~1187mV) and chose that as my stock clocks in bios, then I have voltage slider set to go up to 1.218v if ever want to go crazy in a benchmark run.
Oh, and you should drop stock memory clock from 7010 to 7000. That 10 pisses the **** out of me
I think most Zotac 980 Ti AMP! comes with 80% ASIC, i've searched some OC'ing results for this card.
Even Extreme version has 80% ASIC, who knows maybe i'm very unlucky and get something else.
My 980ti AMP! is 65% ASIC, it overclocks pretty decent at 1.187v, running 1444mhz on the core 24/7 atm and not a single problem. Benched with core higher too without issue.
Mine is only 71.3%, I was a bit disappointed to see that..
Also out of the box it boosted up to 1342mhz I think @ 1.187v. Mine doesn't use 1.193v lol
But I did manage 1453MHz @ 1.187v, at least in latest Dirt Rally @ DSR + that uber demanding fog advanced bleeding.
1450MHz should be a peace of cake for this card.. Anything more, e.g. 1480MHz+ might be tricky.
Did some stability testing last night.
Now that there's an actual, *working*, fan curve, it would appear the issue is fixed.
(I hope). Boost currently @ ~1404MHz and max temp of 50.
Hello there people
My 290x in crossfire died recently and got a refund for 1, about 300 euro. Was pretty unexpected and sweet because I had saved about 500 euro for a new card already. My choice was between a 980 ti and 1070. I discovered the EVGA step-up program and bought the 980ti to upgrade later on to a 1080 and without waiting 2-3 more months without a card. The 1070 paper-launch is a joke.
Anyways, glad to be in the club and hope to get help in the future for overclock questions.
thank for you answer
When I install a driver volcano, although the board does not support him, even though temperatures are not so high
I do not play, but in different formats and convert it puts the board in March epres.
I settled on 1465mhz, anything higher gives driver error.
Some games worked though at 1500mhz.
Memory i have at +100mhz, 300+ gives black square artifacts all over the screen flickering.
My ASIC is 79%.
EDIT: Oh yeah, out of the box mine boosted to 1366mhz what is advertised on the Extreme edition.
And is it normal that it doesn't go over 90% power limit? this is with the OC i mentioned.
A modded vbios might help.
Many are flashing the AMP! Extreme vbios to their Omgega since its the same card and are quite happy with it.
why gtx 980ti prices NEW now are half (or less ) than 2 months ago? (430euro where i live)
and why TITANX price NEW is the same ???
Well given the price plummet on used 980ti`s i decided to pull mine from ebay and got a second Evga 980ti classified, wasn't worth losing £180 of the price of my first 980ti so picked up a used 980ti with just under 800 days left on warranty for £395+pp, ive no interest in VR and i wont be changing my tv until next year unless 2560x1440 in dsr on my Samsung tv isnt smoother.
Was going to get Msi 1080 gaming x but the price hicking really put me off too.
Well if you leave fan at auto it will be a bit tricky.. You need to manually force 55-65% to gain stability at higher clocks.. Its like this auto fan off feature conflicts by very high OC.
That boost clock is not Extreme boost (maybe advertised like Omega 1279MHz), Extreme boosts up to 1443MHz (real) out of the box.
Btw nvm about powerlimit, MSI AB doesn't support this voltage regulator. only Gpu-z reads it correct.
We need 3rd party custom cfg for our cards to make MSI AB work properly. I don't know how to do that, that 3rd party guide looked to confusing for me. I asked Unwinder and his response was very depressing to say the least.. idk maybe I asked him wrong..
Hey does anyone know what the EVGA 980ti Classified LN2 bios is like? Or just how its set up? It's on my second bio's from factory. Don't feel like messing with I just got it in and been tweaking on games and clocks ect. So I can just play again.
I think I got quite lucky I got two EVGA 980 Ti FTW cards with 79 and 78 ASIC and both boost to 1418Mhz out of the box, although I'm sending one back because I don't like SLI anymore, the noise and temps were too much for me and the extra performance didn't serve me much
Don't forget to check which one OC higher and send the other one back.
980 Ti's got a price bump in Holland as far as i can see, from 500>550 euro.
Dunno how much voltage, it said 1.225 with my current OC. (i've lowered it a bit though)
I also have Samsung GDDR5 on it.
How about 1070? Now it seems same pricing as 980ti with that bump. You regreting not 1070 instead yet?
Why? He didn't pay 550 for it? Surely he should feel even better about his purchase?
