There is actually nothing to worry about, this change in fan speed is really only noticable if you manually set the fans to 80% or higher.

And i won't send my card back anyway since i'm very happy with it's performance and overclock capabilities.
And the thought of gaming on a 1440p monitor with my old GTX770 while i look for a new card, scares me. lol

I still have 2 days to think about it, it's just i want the best of the best 980 Ti, cause i'll be paying way to much for a 980 Ti while i can get a brand spanking new 1070 for it.

    I bought this one: http://www.ebay.nl/itm/322154931944?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

With express delivery so i don't have to wait 5-10 days.

You should only get a 980Ti if you get a very good deal on one, the gigabyte xtreme and g1 are very good, as are the zotac AMP! ones to my knowledge. I'm assuming you're talking used, don't buy a new one.

Failing that, wait for 1070 prices to settle and just buy that

Wait. Did you just pay 530 euros for it ?

Not enough info buddy, what clocks can you reach stably ? What's the default voltage? Do you get power limits? Whats your ASIC score, just for reference ?

I didn't mean anything by it, this is your first 980Ti so many of us here will have more experience overclocking it and tweaking bios etc

    Default Voltage 1.1870 V
    Power limit is 1.2120 V (110%)
    ASIC Score is 79.1%

You don't raise the voltage for that clock do you? Your asic score is higher than mine and I'm stable at 1460/8000 @ 1.187v, I'll come up with someone for you to try when I'm home

You know it's weird, out of numerous CPUs and GPUs I've never been able to get overclocks as high as most others have been getting despite doing everything right. Could the power to my house be affecting this?

This is over the course of numerous PSUs. I'm talking about 10 years of overclocking here, never near what most people get for each specific component.

I lost 3 PSUs because of a defective wall plug, every time there was a storm my pc would die lol.

I only figure it out when I plugged a PowerLine adapter in there and it was running at half the speed it should have been

Well f*ck me, i can't make up my mind again 980 Ti vs 1070.

I did a little more research, found a benchmark of a reference 980 Ti vs 1070 reference, and the 1070 boosted actually pretty damn high (1850mhz'ish)
And yet the 980 Ti was pretty close, like 5-10% in between them.

This made my decision so much easier, i'm sticking to my guts and get a 980 Ti and OC it as far as it can go.
