Where are the "Hitler finds out his 970 can only use 3.5GB of VRAM" reaction videos?

Also, if there really was a miss communication gpu-z would not show 64rops. But maybe I haven't understood the way gpu-z works.

Nvidia's own CUDA tool reports the correct number on the L2 Cache and GPU-Z pulls most of it's data from a database that's manually inserted by the developer.

Wait a minute... I bought a GTX 680 with 4GB GDDR5 from EVGA. I want to test if EVGA lied to me...

Okay my image editing skills arent as good. But nevermind point is I was lied too! They told me 4GB of GDDR5 I got 3.58GB of GDDR5. Well technically no I didn't it's just that it's incredibly slower than the rest. In fact 149GBp/s is a lot slower than the theoretical 192GB p/s hmm I guess this test doesn't utilize all four memory controllers to get the full speed.

Not to mention I paid $100 more dollars over retail price just to get that extra GDDR5. I should be even more pissed off.

Now that I have just single handily made this whole controversy irrelevant. I am going to march forward as I continue to crush all internet conversations that get blown up out of proportion.

My 2GB 670's get the same readings. This benchmark is flawed.

I said that in the last thread. I was told people that were getting such results on cards other than the GTX970 were "running the benchmark wrong".....

Just a heads up to any UK 970 owners who purchased from OCUK.
They are accepting all 970's back up until the end of Feb for exchange/refund.
Some aib's are on board with them, namely eVGA, KFA2, Inno3D, Palit.
The rest either aren't or haven't confirmed yet, but OCUK will accept return at their own cost !!
It doesn't appear that nVidia have had any involvement.

I got mine from dabs.com and they haven't replied yet to my email asking them about it.

nVidia still quiet on the matter by the looks of it.

Dude windows allocates 200 to 300 mb of vram from your gpu for it's own stuff, when you test it in non headless mode, you actually run out of ram around 4GB-300mb=3.7GB and then it actually tests your system memory-DDR3 rams as they are next in virtual memory pool. Test in headless monitor setup.

Like it would matter with a 680. You would run out of Gpu power long before Vram any way. Unlike the 980 and the 970.
