I recently got a 5850 and now i'm thinking about getting 9600GT to run physx. Is 9600GT good enough or should i invest a few extra € and get a better physx card? (and which one?) Thanks 4 any advice...
Overkill, man. A 9800GTX/+/GTS250 is borderline overkill. Good idea, but kind of a waste of money. Not to say it won't work, it will and quite well. But way too much for just a PhysX card by itself.
i ran a 285 with a 8400 gts and could only run normal on batman. as 9600gt is quite a bit more powerfull then i would have thought it would run physx on high with batman. thing is u really need to have a physx card? although the effects are nice there's only a couple of games. i.e mirrors edge and batman where it's worth it. i'd much rather spend the money on an ssd or go towards another 5850 or in my case another 5870...money better spent i think. however if a couple more titles that are as good as batman come out then yeah i can see getting a physx card as a sound investment. i dont think there is any def proof that there will loads more games where physx plays a major role...
I read when all this started that a 8600GT is minimum, anything else isnt worth it. However that was when it was first hyped,I myself a few months back used a 320mb 8800GTS as physics with a 9800GT as main card and told that was overkill so a 9600GT should be about perfect.
