i just get my 6600GT last week, i play games in stock freq and its impressive compared to my OLD FX5600 VIVO...

its a LEADTEK A6600GT 128MB AGP with stock cooler. The temp here in philippines is almost the same there in INDIA... My idle temp is about 44-45C and MAX TEMP on LOADS is about 75-77C.

I am hoping to bring the temp down, after i will change my case... i did not try benching it with 3dMark 2005. but my score in 3DMark 2003 is 7726 everything in default. Using 81.95 WHQL from NVIDIA...

    Is this normal for 6600GT @ stock(500/900)?

Ya, but not that much... i think its the mem... Only 512, i read some thread that theres a big leap in FPS from 512 to 1Gig... Also, its not dual channel... Its an OLD RIG, almost 2 years...

Man I thought I was going hot, my lovely Asus 6600 GT pulls a degree of 70C/72C at loads, and when idle around 40, he is stock clocked, so I have a bit room to o/c left, however I going to get the Zalman VGA cooler mentioned before, because I really want to get the best out of it.

    Anyway Goodlcuk gaming guys.

P.S. I now Celeron sucks, but hey everbody needs to start at a low budget;)(When possbile I'll get and AMD soonXD)

Actually LEADTEK performs well than ASUS when it comes to TEMP... I have those temp because my rig is not well ventilated... Planning to change case...

i usually prefer asus over other brands for some unknown reason :)

just that at the time of buying my 6600gt, asus didnt make one yet, nor was there any pci-e 6800series ready to buy >_<

and, after many benches and recordings, i found 38C idle (@592/1181) and 61C max ( 3dmark05 2 times with riva monitoring )

    38C idle (@stock) and 57C max ( 3dmark05 all night long with riva monitoring/recording )

BTW leave for one night and leave rivatuner record temps. then you will see the temps.
