the main difference came due to your larger mem. OC..... for max. allowable frequencies you'll just have to experiment......it differs with cards....but with 88c you shouldn't be excited 'cause its still high.....try keeping load temps within 75~77.....

    Dude...

Try running the hs/f at max speed with RivaTuner. And try keeping your case's side open.

Try both low-level and driver-level Fan settings, and see which one works for you. Set to 100%.

    Hi Monalac.

What happened with the high temsp?? ;)

Really curious to know what caused it and how it was solved.

    THIS IS WAT I DID..
d high temp caused by d faulty heatsink compound which became solid i donno why,
i used local heatsink compound which was soft and cool. and now its fine doesnt go more then 78deg C
and when i overclock 1053/550 it goes to 86Deg max which i i guess safer..
and well ive tighten my HEATSINK a LOT!!
and ive seen boost of 10FPS while overclock in most wanted donno why so much difference.. and ive pasted 2 80mm fans together with PCI Silver strip n insalled in 1 of d PCI slot for cooling my GPU directly blowing on it..and yes it showed abt 5-10Deg change.. but dust might accumulate pretty soon.
CAN ANYBODY TELL ME, HOW TO CLEAN DUST NEAR D FANS ON D GRULL SIDE? MY BRUSH DOESNT REACH THERE AND BELOW THE FANS TOO IT DOESNT REACH THERE.. so how to clean. lots of dust acumulated on the vertical drill like thing.. i donno wat to call that . hope u guru's will fig out.

forgot to tell 56deg is idle temp. and my default memory clock is 900Mhz, if i overclock to 1Ghz will it HARM or reduce lifespan of card?? or will it overheat? cause i guess stock speed of 6600GT mem is 1Ghz default. i donno why its 900Mhz in my case! but ive started noticing LAG's in most wanted now. any remedies for this? i use 4xAA 16xAF by 1024*768 highest details

    well... then dont use 4XAA + 16XAF

    try 4XAA and 4XAF or 8X

and agp stock clocks are 500/900 for some reason....

overclocking will reduce lifespan by a bit, im not sure how much

I’ve been playing around with my 6600GT so see if overclocking affects it and ..I cant get it any higher that 39c during benchmarking….those temps are very hot…

DUDEs, the real test is playing most wanted with constant BLURRING Effects and driving on highways at 300kmph...
then see ur real TEMPS. im saying the max LOAD taken by the GPU..
how much is ur room temperature?
this BENCHMARK ur using is not at all stressing in 3D.

after getting back my 6600GT from RMA, i lost my MX1 compound >_< so im stuck with regular thermal paste + NV6

on boot, temps around 42~44 ish load max 63c (oc 580/1180 3dmark05 in test monitored by riva with osd enabled) ( im expecting it to drop becuz 2morrow would be much colder in my area

b4 when i had the better compound and my old card it would boot at around 37~39ish load max 58c (oc 580/1185 3dmark05 in test via riva)

i don't evn try with brushes just switch on my bvaccum cleaner blower and keep over the card (not too near though :D) for about a minute ...... this more or less clears any clogs ...

Play FEAR for a couple of hours, that will get your card's temp up pretty much as high as it can go.
