    I installed the whql approved nvidia drivers last night 93.71, installed cool bits 2.0 then went to up my clock speed on the memory and it was a t 2.4ghz default (7800GTX 1200mhz default). I know my effective memory speed is not 1200mhz. Has this occured to anyone else? Also I wonder what would of happened if I benched it with the memory at 2400mhz?

    DDR = Double Data Rate
    It's displaying the effective speed, the actual speed was not changed.

    It was displaying 2.4ghz, at ddr my card's speed is 1200mhz. I wish it was 2.4.

    Thanks Shodai, now that i know there an error in the way it is displaying the speed I feel bettter that I'm will not be running my memory at 2x it's rating.

    His card doesn't run at 2400DDR ;) It's 600MHZ, 1200DDR :)

    I know, the drivers are doubling the visible (not effective) speed one too many times.

    It is a bug, the real spead is 1200MHz.

    I honestly hope that nVidia will release a fixed driver soon :) I am running 91.47 now, only because of that memory bug ;)

    The new drivers display the effective speed DDR speed which is 2x what's normally reported, only sometimes the driver reads the DDR speed in the first place (I suspect from the cards BIOS) and so its 4x effective.

    This is probably a problem with manufacturers not sticking to reference designs closely enough as it only seems to happen with certain cards.

    does powerstrip detect your curren correctt clocks on the cards or show the doubled speeds?

    wierd running with 93.71 and got no memory problem at all. Running overclocked at 600 core and 1500 mem on my 7800 GS+ memory haven`t show anything wrong at all.

    Yes I went back to 91.47, I wanted to get some feedback before I updated again, but it looks like I'll stay with 91.47 till it's fixed. I know it is just a misread, but the thought of getting into a BF2 round and frying 2x 7800gtx cards makes me uneasy. Although it might be the legitimate excuse I need to convince my wife I need 2x 8800gtx cards.

    :eek:c:
