Maybe you should try undoing that...?
:3eyes::3eyes: What are you talking about...
Not you don't have DX10 with a drivers XP...
The XP drivers don't work on vista... it's just some DLL (DX9, Extension) it's compatible with Vista (NT)
But stop to tell bad information concerning drivers XP on Vista...
I really don't think so, crysis launch on DX10 and all the games required DX10,
Vantage can't launch too.
And your screen Crysis = DX9
Yeah, screenies show DX9 in his shots.
Guess he found out the hard way though.
I already said that if you install XP drivers on Vista 32bit, gaming will run in Directx9 mode. I was saying that i still have Vista32bit , thats what i meant to say. But as of right now, i have directx9 as for is concern, which is not a bad, direcx9 is faster and less demanding, so i am happy about that.
Anyways, here i have 9.7 drivers install using the old ATI CP
Why are ATI drivers so very bloated? I just installed the 9.7 beta under Win7 32bit. 90mb for the driver and 200mb for the ccc! Thats insane.
Big file, better performance? :wanker:
how the hell can u install xp drivers on vista?vista has a different driver model
on 32bits, it doesnt, at least every non-gpu or sound related driver works here
im actually using XP x64 driver for LAN card on win7 (bcs win7 is buggy for my LAN card)
Well XP catalyst drivers install just fine, but with Nvidia thats a different story. Does not work at all. I was hoping nvidia xp drivers will install, but it does, but has too many errros, bsod , etc.
any news on the 9.7 beta for vista 64 / w7 64 ?
just switched my 4850 with a 4870 1 GB sapphire and I feel like testing a beta driver
These work, but its more hassle than it's worth. I'd just run cat 9.6 and be done with it, and wait for official 9.7. I don't think it will be much longer.
Im guessing another week or two.
I figure they will be out tomorrow lol
Waited ages for new drivers while nvidia have 3-4 sets in same period
nvidia does release more drivers, i know since i had 4 NV cards before my 4870, but the vast majority are beta and few are whql. ATI releases 12 whql a year while NV releases more like 8 (offhand guess). also with NV i noticed that betas would help some games while hurting others. after owning both i feel that both companies have their own advantages and disadvantages when it comes to hardware support.
Really? The last official fully supported driver is June 18th........ When I had my 8800GT I waited over 3 months for a new official driver.
Hope they come out today...
Btw first post
and allso they may fix issues in newer games ,but when you go to replay older ones some of them end up being buggy to play, and thats why i went to ati and loving it.
Welcome and glad to have you aboard.
Same here, and welcome.
