8K video appear on YouTube

too bad even 1080p or 720p looks like junk on youtube compared to same resolution on something like bluray.

 

Slideshow at 8k, 4k is smooth but not perfect. Also 4k and 8k look very close to identical.

heh I love how youtube says "Experiencing interruptions?"

Maybe the 8k on youtube will look close to what real 720p looks like.

We`ve come far folks... we`ve reached the area of real 720p quality on youtube.

 

I cant run it on Windows 8.1/10 I tried all the mainstream browsers and none of them can run it without stuttering. But on Linux with Chromium smooth a.f. while installing uptades. LOL

 

firefox and ie just give black screen with sound.


chrome plays it but stutters sometimes with audio drop out.

 

Funny thing, some weeks ago I was playing YT while windows decided to update graphics driver.
As result it crashed like 5 times in row before notice popped up saying: "application is now blocked from using 3d hardware".
Since then, no HW acceleration in FF, no clue where windows list of blocked/allowed applications.
I can play 4k via CPU, not exactly smooth. But 8k does not even show one frame, it caches and that's all.

 

No replacement for displacement... err... bandwidth.

Yet, 4k streams have greater bandwidth limit than FullHD, so it makes sense to watch 4k YouTube stream @ FullHD screen.

 

Can't get the video to play.

It plays the sound just fine, and it shows me the thumbnails whilst scrubbing, but cannot get an image/video.

That's when using the embedded link in the tiny window though, when I open in YT, I get no option for 8K, but 4K UHD flash...wierd.

I have 8k option in FF, but not in opera. Yet another weird thing.

 

cpu usage 58% max I saw @ 8K,however not so different visual quality comparing to 4K for my eyes.
Guys how to capture screenshots @ 4K and 8K which are beyond native resolution on this video..? Which program ?

It ran smooth no stutters or audio drop outs, but 40ish%cpu usage & for me it looks no better than 1440p .

I have yet to discover 480p...

 

4K is easy peasy for my rig but 8K is stutter a lot of experience. I bet if i can download 8K video then play it back with mpc-hc, will be smooth as butter.

 

The real question is that how many people are capable of recording at 8K? I can't think of any. @4K I only know of 1 person on YouTube who records their videos at 4K and he has a beefy computer with an 5960x and a titan X.

 

Gotta love those resolution comparison images where they act like lower resolutions are going to have so much cut off XD.
