Well I had to set fixed 8gb to prevent quake champions doing its memory leak crap and it still crashes time to time..

This is now at high textures mind you, i use to play ok with ultra..

I uninstalled that pos in the end.

Although i kept pagefile as it is 8gb.. windows maybe uses tiny fraction of it, i have enough ssd space and just don't bother with it anymore. This intel ssd now is from y2013 and still works like day 1.. ssd tear is overrated.

How did you read so much into my post?

    1) "You would replace an SSD before it died due to writes" How do you know? So I can't just use an old SSD that's lying around? I have an 8-9 year old 120GB SSD that's still being used in a functional system to this day.

    2) Where did I mention that effective SSD lifespan is visibly impacted by having a page file? Did you not notice "in theory"?

    3) Where did I mention that I do not mind the disadvantages of disabling a page file that were stated? Strawman argument.

    4) How is it relevant to state what could kill an SSD like power outage or physical harm? Please explain how someone can physically damage their SSD (within reason). Dropping your computer? We're talking about desktops here. What sort of drop would damage an SSD? Some atomic bomb?

    5) How on Earth did you assume I am being paranoid? How the hell did you arrive at that conclusion from what I said? What do you think about not lecturing me about something I didn't even mention?

Bunch of drivel. 4GB of RAM would probably choke as soon as you open a couple of tabs on Windows 10. What sort of low memory speed would you have to be running to get a game to benefit "monstrously" from going from dual channel to quad channel? Can you even link a single benchmark that shows that and doesn't use slow as ass memory to begin with?

There are enterprise considerations where quad chokeslams dual channel, but home usefulness for it is non existant.

Right, so you have nothing to back up your drivel. Noted.
