Yep. Use SSD for pagefile. Turning it off is like throwing away your life jacket because your ship is still floating....

    It's a precautionary thing....

8 gigs of commit charge is more than enough for Windows and games, if you crash I'd be surprised.

Started doing some video editing for the first time ever, no problems in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I guess 8GB really is enough for now.

Well, for your system it's probably better to aim for a 12 or 24GB. =b
    It's a triple-channel, is it not?

8GB is enough to run BF3 without a PF (if you don't mind running in Dual Channel mode)...

    little Update, here..

I have my Pagefile now disabled for more then 8 month, give or take...
I have no problems at all..BF3 runs fine, SKyrim also, all my mods run, all video editors and stuff i use are working also..
Only Prob i had , was with Photoshop, when i tried to render a 20gb Video file with an Bitrate of 200MB/s, there Photoshop sayd its out of Memory..i should enable the pagefile..But that only happened once. so im fine..

For all i can say...8GB Ram is enough for a non paged system...If u dont go tooo crazy on it and want to edit some crazy big ass files in some adobe programms...

    Just wanted to Update that..hehe..

That's kinda like saying "It's fine to walk without any footwear, but I had problems when I stepped on a cactus.".
    200MB/s bitrate? Damn.
    You're nuts. :p

    Hey just to let you know, the amount of memory available to Photoshop can be adjusted under Preferences/Performance tab;

A year ago I tried running without a pagefile. It worked fine until I tried running an old program and that wouldn't start because it needed a pagefile. After that I went back to using a pagefile even with 16 Gb of Ram.

Getting a paged pool memory error in Starcraft II with Ultra settings. I upped the page file to 4gb but it didn't help. Any tips?

hmm, tested around ~3-4 million objects (geographical map) in AutoCAD and its already using around 7GB of Ram, doing other things liek querying some objects demanded moar ram usage '__'

Wouldn't your SSD get flogged less without pagefile and last longer?

    - On a laptop with battery for backup in case of power outage I can't see a problem with write buffer cache flushing really. Maybe if you were writing data and power when down on PC something may happen but I've never had a problem since really early operating systems and write failures due to power outage. Improvements in file systems probably negate most problems.

Only old legacy software could be an issue but a RAM drive could fix that seeing most systems are being sold with 16GB RAM these days and it's dirt cheap.

Cheers. :) I just turned it off on my wife's laptop. :D

    - by also disabling Hibernation that is 32GB of SSD space saved. - at least.

I have buffer flushing disabled on all except the OS drive.
