As the title says, there is any 8800GTS 512 with a black PCB? or i need to go to a 9800GTX?
So, you're basing your upgrade decision on the color of the PCB?
I'm not aware of any 8800GTS 512MB with a black PCB.
However, I've got a flourescent neon aurora FX5200 I'll cut you a deal on.
With similar prices, i prefer i card with black PCB, only that
Shouldn't you care more about performance, in which the 9800GTX is easily faster than the 8800GTS 512MB?
easily faster? is almost the same card...
After a little searching, it looks like you're outta luck.
edit: word has it that XFX will have black PCBs in their GTSes a little bit down the road.
Except its clocked higher and performs roughly 20% better at stock. It's already a proven strong overclocker. Not to mention its Hybrid SLI and Tri-SLI compatible as well as supporting HDMI output.
For similarly priced cards, its a no brainer for me.
I think most G92 PCBs are green because Nvidia is the green team. Some manufacturers like MSI and Gainward have red PCBs though. Performance wise, 9800 GTX is a little faster than 8800 GTS 512 at stock but the RAM can be pushed further because of the 0.8ns chips. The G92s are bottlenecked by RAM bandwith so if you can get 9800GTX slightly more expensive than GTS 512, go for it.
But the 9800GTX has black PCB :3eyes:
