Yes. It's already discontinued last I heard. Not sure if it's correct though.

I heard the 8800GTS 320MB would be discontinued after the release of the 8800GT but this remains to be seen. The 8800GT series seems to be cheaper and perhaps even faster so it seems like a logical step.

    Still, I haven’t seen anything official yet,….

I think I’ll wait to see what an 8800GT 1GB card can do,….or maybe the new 8800GTS if it ever comes out,…

Well, guess that Newegg may probably have some price drops and clearance/closeout bits before the advent of the new 8800GT and GTS cards, so we'll need to see if they are doing that. I'm guessing that the 1GB 8800GT will probably even make the 640MB version of the card a thing of the past.

We've known about 320mb getting phased out a long time already.. or at least I have.

Isn't that common knowledge?? Naturally the 320 is made obsolete by the 8800gt in performance and value.

Yes.altough it's a good card there won't be any reason to still on the market, but thinking like that neither the 640Mb version will.Just if the became as low as U$250 or so.

    Here’s the thing though,….

Let say someone bought an 8800GTS 320MB card or 8800GTS 640MB card from eVGA that is eligible for the 90 day upgrade program.

Now, even though the 8800GT 512MB card may out perform the 8800GTS 320MB and 8800GTS 640MB its nomenclature suffix suggests a lower class and its price definitely suggests a lower class part.

The eVGA 90 day upgrade program is only good for upgrades and technically the 8800GT would be a downgrade,….even assuming the leaked benchmarks are legitimate. Even if that isn’t the case you cannot upgrade to a cheaper card,….that’s just the way the program works,…

I hope the 8800GT benchmarks are authentic I really do but its one of those things you really have to see for yourself.

Rumor indeed says that 320 GTS is on its way out and it wouldn't really come as a surprise if it was but nVidia itself hasn't confirmed it yet and there still seem to be plenty of 320's in stock at retailers.

As for the new GTS its actual specs are not yet known, some say there will be a 512Mb and 1Gb version while others believe that there will be only one model, that it will still have 640Mb but either 112 or 128 stream processors instead of 96 for the current GTS. I doubt this is true because such a small number of extra stream processors wouldn't make that card noticeably faster than the current GTS 640 unless they crank up the clocks, keep 320-bit bus and current bandwidth.

Not that it matters really.. seeing as how my card performs in my system with game slike U3, Lost Planet among others, I see no reason to get rid of it for quite a while yet.
