my gtx480 is equivalent to the gtx570, so i don't worry, high-ultra for me.

Considering how many different versions there are of the GTX460 there are, its not that huge an issue for it to be compared to a 5830, as it's not as fast as a 5850, and maybe in this game both cards do have similar performance.

Also EA/Dice have been saying for a while now that this game had support, so likely also funding from AMD, Nvidia and Microsoft to help push the sale of new hardware and operating systems.

Whether it backfires on EA/Dice or not, we will have to wait and see.

Yes! They recommend GTX560. My GTX460 is running the exact same speeds as an out of box GTX560. They even share the same amount of 336 cuda-cores. Both 256bit!

Like I said for a few months ago guys: GTX460 with decent OC paired with an I5-2500K will give you smooth high quality gaming experience in BF3!!

Exactly! And when you tried to argue this with me a while back saying my GTX460 would be lucky to produce 30 frames on medium I said not true!

We will find out in the next day or so, well you guys will, as no beta for me.

Even though i'm only planning on using MLAA, i still don't expect much more than 30-40fps from this on Ultra, especially when the dev's have been saying most of the videos have been running on 2x580.

You tried to argue a 560TI was the same as your 460 which its not (TI has more Shader Cores and Texture Units which no overclocking is going to change)

you also said your 460 would max bf3 out at 60fps which it won't.

One thing I will say is I think it takes the piss when they re-brand cards as higher numbers, most people won't know the difference between 560ti and a 560 and even fewer know a 560 is just a re-branded 460.

But I honestly think they mean a Ti in the recommended specs seems as it paired with the 6950.

True. Very misleading using the non Ti model. The Ti model is a better card. It isn't night and day though. The difference is what? 50 cuda-cores in total? But that will really help a shader intensive game like BF3 me thinks...

How about an overclocked GTX 570 (900core/2000mem) and i5 2500k at 4.5GHz? Is that not good enough for ultra settings on 1080p?

So... is this confirmed to be for Origin only? Steam is the only computer parasite/DRM I will tolerate. If it's Origin only I'm not buying it. I may not buy it just because EA is associated with it.

    Yeah, for bull**** reasons, too:

    http://www.moddb.com/groups/battlefield3/news/battlefield-3-officially-not-coming-to-steam

Yeah, **** you EA. "Only the best quality service"?

That's why Origin plans to pay per download, right.
