*Offtopic* WOW, new forum engine!!! KEWL!
i like these drivers.
i just reformated so i have to reinstall my benches and games
Are you setting affinity of Steam and CS to use only one core? (doesn't matter which)
Task Manager / right click process / set affinity
(If you set affinity to Steam, before you launch CS:S, CS:S will default to the same core as Steam)
I had that same issue, but only in CS:S.
Try that, if it persists.
This solved it for me.
(Only using the AMD dual core driver, no MS patch here)
http://www.directron.com/rlvnccnu1.html - works fine for me and temp is at 41, my PC is now finally dead silent
I had the same problem with these drivers so I went back to 81.87s
IMHO....these are the best drivers to date, i used everything and out of all drivers, the 81.95 WHQL are the best.
No bugs in any game i played and IQ is great, besides NFS MW is a lot smoother with those.
i don't test 3DMARK cause i don't play that. :hatty:
this drivers dont have correct screen refresh rates, the hertz is flying in all resolutions
RTSAnime, Does that version work well?
Aaaargh! I tried, with 81.87 CS:S hangs as well... :flame: Rolling back to 78.01...
i keep all my games on a seperate partition cuz i reformat quite a bit, then i just recreate the shortcuts to my desktop
Can I use this driver as the first one...
Can i use this driver when installing my XFX geforce 6600gt from scratch or do i need the original driver on the c.d. only i think i have lost it. Any other ideas? thanks
Antrax... bypassing the word filter will get you in trouble
Yes you can use these, I always put the newest set of drivers on when installing a card, or reformatting my hard drive.
First uninstall the old driver, boot in safe mode, run driver cleaner to get rid of any left over files, boot into windows and install the new driver.
