81.95 Win32

Discussion in 'Videocards - NVIDIA GeForce Drivers Section' started by rflair, Nov 22, 2005.

  1. I agree with everybody....

these are the best 81.xx drivers ever, and yes, NFSMW is a lot better & smoother with em, besides other games.

i have to admit desktop in WINXP though isn't as good as earlier drivers (81.85 and before), not as crisp, but who cares when games run so good.

    ;) keepers

doom 3 is slightly slower for me( 2-3 fps) 3dm03 & 05 have improved as has am3.havn't benched any thing else yet (hl2,farcry,fear,bf2,c.o.d.2)this is the only driver since 77.77 to improve performance for me overall.

Surfy, maybe try the X_G ones from TweakysRuS 'cause the 81.94 ones are great and the original 81.94 from Nvidia BSOD my PC and X_G ones don't. Their little tweaks seem to always improve 'em and have better IQ. He he I had to add the underscore or the name gets ** out.
Haven't tried 81.95 yet though, too busy playin NFSMW - No 2 is goin down on the Blacklist BRch! :)

well I just received my MSI 7800GTX 512 MB, really amazing, performance boost about 35 - 50 % in all games (Quake 4, CoD 2, Doom 3, FEAR) and the IQ is really great for me.

Image quality sucks with these drivers on my system! Back to the 77.77's I guess. :(

I know this is off topic but your bench scores seem a little low for your system dude. My son has basically the same system as yours and he's getting over 11,400 on 3DMark03 and 5,100 on 3DMark05 with no overclocking. Something is holding your performance back because your scores should be much higher. :)

Estima8tor you will notice he said in the linked post that his 6800GT is not an "official" GT as we all know.I'm assuming you're referring to his "GT" scores ? His GT may as well be a 6800nu so his scores seem ok to me.

Sorry, just glanced at benchmark links and it said GT. Asus shouldn't label that card a GT IMO. Please excuse my wrongful assumption.

In austalia ,asus don't have such a card.I think he got suckered into buying something he thought was a GT.

I was really glad about ForceWare 80 series, because it served enhanced performance on my AMD X2 dual core system.
    BUT....
My favorite game CS:Source (and other games) randomly hanged and crashed.... (fries 3D frame with looping sounds) I tried changing IRQ-s, -nosound option, changing cards in PCI slots, the only solution was to rolling back to ForceWare 78.01...

    It' a little annoying... :-(

I searched here for similar posts, didn't find... I am alone with this problem? What would be it?

    My config is:
-MSI SLI Platinum MB (on-board SB Live! 24bit)
    -AMD Athlon X2 3800+
    -MSI Geforce 7800 GT, single
    -XP SP2

    No AA in AOE3 ... :(

Does anyone else experience that with the 81.95 (and also the .94) drivers, if you switch on AntiAliasssing in AOE3, it results in an awkward black/white screen ?? :frown:
(It's even very difficult to find the location in the screen where it says 'undo' then ...).
For the rest these drivers seem to perform very well in other games like BF2 and CoD/Cod-U/CoD2 ... (besides resulting in a new personal high for 3Dmark)

    /edit

Opened a separate thread, because of the lack of response
