Post feeback.. enjoy
thanks for sharing , tried it but the dowload gives an error, managed to get round that , but on trying to install the driver it can't locate an ati2mag.sys file so at that point i thought i'll leave it, looking at the download it all looks there but just not worth messing up whats already ok, thanks for sharing though and they must not be far off in retail form
For me they installed ok and the xp loaded fine and no errors..I unchecked HDMI, .net 2.0, Redistributable c++, wdm, avivo.I leaved only Ati display driver and Catalyst Control center.I don't needed the others.
It says these are x64 drivers, true?
Was hoping these are x32, or are they? Please confirm a.s.a.p. please :cops:
I installed them on XP 32bit ... i even benched lost coast with them in xp32bit BUT during extraction i saw something else. They contain also the x64 .net support so maybe it detects the OS and install the necesary driver.I am not sure. i will run them in vista x64 and see if that's true.
The package is pretty big anyway ...
I see you benched them in WinXPx32, so those should also contain x32 driver sets. How are these performing by the way, any good or even better than the 7.7's? I do care to know.
Ok... i can confirm that the drivers DON"T run in VISTA .They run ONLY in 2000/xp.I got an unusual performance drop in lost coast from usually 100+ fps to 82fps but i am not sure if the AA was fully disabled..I need to do more testing..
on station-drivers it now shows 7.8 beta for "pour Windows 2000/Xp/Vista 32/64bits"
Did you see any improvements in Lost Planet or CM Dirt?
Am I the only one that can't get this file to download

Installled the driver he show well 8.40, but allways 7.7 on the CCC.. can think it's an error, the driver number have not beeen updated..
2D mode is noisy again, temps over 50C, compared to 42-43C with 7.7
Looks like Lost Planet over DX10 have same fps as DX9 version now, thats nice, with same settings.
EDIT.: Nope, its still slower
It's the same RC3 that i posted but for vista also now
i will test it later in gaming
These break directshow video acceleration with the 2400 cards, both in Vista32 and XP32. HDDVD/BD playback in PowerDVD is still accelerated though.
The beta fixes LP menu bug found in 7.6/7.7, but did not improves anything than HL2 Lost Coast video stress test: ~12% improvement in 12x10 and 16x10 resolutions, but other games are still the same (FEAR bench, PREY, DOOM 3, 3D06, LP bench). Not sure but IQ seems slightly better with this beta. And the card is noisy in 2D mode again...
Did not tested Vista yet.
Edit: HardwareOC Serious Sam 2 benchmark shows improvements of about 16.3%
Just installed new Directx August 2007, K-lite Codec Pack Version 3.3.0 and Cat 7.8 beta for Windows Vista 32 bit. Now HDTV 1080p video run great without frame freezing.
I'm working on a new driver based on RC3 i think they have disbaled the hardware support for HD movie play back, should be able to fix that (if that is the problem, as it's a reg entry to disable / enable it)
ill keep em,anti aliasing is becoming tolerable to use.this seems like a "tighter" driver then previous builds have been.ive only played stalker,quake4,and dark messiah and all run smoother with a hint of some overall iq optimizing in these drivers it looks like.
the exe is the green AMD symbol now too..ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.
