So I just recently purchased the Sapphire 7950 OC Edition Graphics Card and I am having some issues.

    Specs:
    1920x1080

    750w PSU
    i5 2500k 3.3
    8gb DDR3 Ram
    Sapphire 7950 OC

I feel I am not getting the performance I should be getting. It is seated correctly and the power cables are plugged in correctly. I can't try another PCIE slot due to it being a 16x & 4x board. I am sure that isn't the problem anyways. And yes, I uninstalled all of my Nvidia drivers. I actually reinstalled windows to see if that would do anything and it didn't. Anyways, when I play Just Cause 2 with everything at max I get 60fps but after about 30 seconds of playing it will drop up and down to 30fps. Also when I play Battlefield 3 on Ultra (4x AA) I get roughly the same FPS I get with my GTX 560 Ti (35-50fps). That is unacceptable. I've also tried Crysis Warhead which I only get 25fps on Enthusiast. Last but not least I have tested this card with Tera Online and get anywhere from 50-70fps while just leveling by myself. This is without any added AA on. My GTX 560 Ti gets 45-60fps with 8x AA and 16 AF on. A streamer I watch says he gets an average of 120fps with 8x AA and 16x AF with a GTX 580 & i7 2600k @ 4.5Ghz. And he doesn't just a magical 20-30fps boost from his overclock. I OC'd my cpu to 4.3 and it only increased my fps by maybe 5 at most. Tried drivers 12.2 and 12.3, nothing changed. I have increased the power consumption to +20% and that did yield some improvements but not much. The card will also sometimes idle at 501 Core Clocks instead of 300 and when it does go to 501 Core Clock it stays there until I reboot.

I have also tried a little bit of overclocking and the highest it will go is 980/1450 @ 1.131v. It simply will not go higher than that. I have tried 1000/1500 @ various voltages and they each result in a crash.

    What gives?

sounds wierd i have same card, getting 1050hz on core, and 1575 on memory, and i havent even touched vcore, power control setting 0%. i went from 2- 6870's in crossfire and they had higher fps then this card in bf3. i cant run in ultra either, but i have 120hz screen and need the frames.. so i drop it down to high and turn off some shadow settings also zero AA. drivers they are out now are pretty bad, so i would try the rc11 drivers released in the past or the new beta's AMD Catalyst 12.x (8.951.1 March 3rd) Win V/7/8 Unofficial BETA which work good for single card 7970's or 7950's.

bf3 1920x1200 7970 is 48.8fps, ultra kills fps. using Intel Core i7 3960X overclocked to 4.3GHz on an EVGA X79 SLI motherboard. which is way better then 2500k. so not shocking your fps is low

I've recently got a 7950 3GB OC edition. No problem so far. The card is impressive, at stock settings, with all the games I play at ultra settings.

One thing I noticed: during the first fine tuning of the card, if I messed up with the Vertycal Refresh settings (ingame and in the CCC) my FPS were lower than those of my trusty old 5870 1GB.

Now I generally run both the CCC and ingame settings on "always off".

I know mine is not rocket science, still I wanted to be sure.

I am running my Sapphire 7950 oc edition at 1020core and 1500 memory without messing with the powertune. I think you only need to mess with that if you are getting 1100 on core or so. I can play bf3 1080p ultra on everything, I turn off hbao its a waste and looks like ****.
